The one player on the Cowboys roster that everyone is forgetting about

I think another candidate is Kenneth Murray. He has not been a very good player. If he can play like a guy with the abilities that earned him a round one pick a few years ago he would help in a huge way. But IF is a big IF with him

He's very much a Jaylon Smith type. Fast with zero awareness, and can hit the wrong gap quickly.

Murray spent 3 years at Oklahoma, and this will be his 6th year in the NFL. I don't see him developing into a play-reading savant at this point.

The depth on the OL is better than I remember it in quite some time but the starting OTs are a mess.

Could be a historic interior. Every single of those dudes is an *** kicker.

If he's been forgotten by anyone it's the coaching staff. Edoga should not have been playing last year instead of Asim. I'm no expert on O-lineman but can't recall Asim playing badly in his limited time on the field.

It’s easy to get excited about the new guys, but don’t forget about this solid reserve who is poised to take his next step.

The Dallas Cowboys have added numerous new players to their roster this season. Between another draft, a few trades, and a free agency that was a little more active than years past, there are going to be several new players to root for this season. With so many players to keep our interest, it’s easy to forget about some of the lesser-known fellas on the roster. But every year, guys emerge from the woodwork to be key contributors on the team. Who will be the player who does that this season?

A few years ago, we mentioned that Jayron Kearse was the one player on the roster that everyone is forgetting about. His skills against the run and in coverage were something the team had been lacking at the safety position. Kearse took full advantage, starting 15 games and leading the team in tackles. He also tacked on 10 pass-breakups and two interceptions. He emerged as a key defensive player, earning him a second contract with the team.

So maybe not a very good run blocker but considering the position, seems like the better player.

The question is can Guyton beat out Steele? BC in my mind AR is already better than Guyton and should be the starter at LT. He clearly outplayed him when given snaps.
I thought Richards should have been given a legitimate shot at starting at LT last year since we drafted a rookie who had to convert from RT. This year, I hope they have a short leash if Guyton struggles. Put the best five out there whoever that may be. I won't be surprised, though, if he spends a lot of time cross-training at RT this summer so he can be the swing tackle.

I like how our depth looks overall with Richards, Bass and Hoffman. And that doesn't figure in Thomas, Cornelius or any of the cheap FAs we signed. I still hold out some hope for Waletzko as well but I still feel he's strictly a left tackle.

Asim Richards should be the starting LT. Guyton should go to RT. Steele can kick rocks.
He needed a lot of work.

He only did 13 bench presses in his pre draft work. Terrible.

Struggled vs pass rush also.

Agree, and I don’t think he was given a real shot to win the job. They think first round picks are essentially high end FA signings.

The depth inside is really good, for now, and why taking DT Clark instead of OG Booker may have been the better call, but we know the deal there. They already made their investment in the DT position and it’s someone else’s fault when it doesn’t work.

Not saying Booker was a bad pick, but if you take Torrence instead of Schoonmaker maybe you don’t need to take a second first round guard. One mistake fuels the next.

Back to Richards, I’m a fan, but I believe it’s his walk year, and if Guyton was handed the starting job last year, it’ll be the same this time. It’s his to lose. I wouldnt bet against him greatly improving, but he could just as easily stay on bust freeway. Much rides on him and other first round guarantee Mazi Smith.

Lacks instincts. His physical abilities are great. Think Bobby Carpenter.

You have a LB centric DC I say Damone Clark either makes a leap and is a steady influence on this D or his days wearing the Star are over .
