DAL has been doing great business in the cap mgmt area and people are slowly starting to see that.
Hurns was obviously a non-factor for this clause to matter NOW as being injured he wasn't signing anywhere for an amount that rewarded the team.
BUT, it was a good idea and getting extra Losses on that side of the ledger always helps.

This isn't hard. Trust Stephen Jones and Will McClay in their respective areas. And trust Jerry in marketing ALONE.
I won't get into coaching which is far more debatable.
