I never heard him call games for the Astros, but heard many game that he called when doing Pirates games in the late 70's, including their championship season of '79.

The guy had a terrific voice and approach to calling a baseball game.

Another one of baseball's legends gone...

I grew up listening to Milo calling the Astros before we had cable and were able to watch them on TV. Heck, I even used to turn down the TV and listen to the radio broadcast on the radio often once we did have cable..I have many fond memories of him from my childhood. RIP Milo!!!!

Milo was awesome.....He was a student and historian of the game and an absolute professional. He simply loved the game, and his passion showed in his broadcasts. He brought you to the stadium, with great detail. Though he was an Astros announcer, he called the game as unbiased as possible. Just like Scully and Buck, he told a story, and entertained generations of baseball fans.

I cannot stand the Astros announcers since he walked away. It was a pleasure to hear him one last time on the radio this summer, when he was a guest during the middle inning. He was an absolute treasure......he has and will be missed by all who have had the opportunity to hear and know him.

Thank you Milo, rest in peace.
