Guys I was wondering what do you think of the "Elders".....They are not fast, and frankly I'm not impressed with their covering skills....However they are always finding themselves in the right position because of their intelligence...I'm thinking we should spread the field:

4 Receivers and a RB....kind of hard to blitz that formation with your LB's

Your thoughts??

You forgot about Adalius Thomas-he can do anything, and his coverage skills are excellent. Roosevelt Colven ain't no slouch either.

He is overrated in coverage......

When you get him moving his hips he is horrible..

He is a straight line runner

I think a no-huddle offense would completely throw New England off their game plan.

That's a great idea.

Junior Seau is about as good as Als was at the end of his time with the Cowboys.

Seau, IMO, is one of the most overrated players in the history of the game...lot's of flash and no substance.

True but he plays OLB and DE......it seems the majority of their blitzes come from the ILB positions and the CB.....The OLB blitz can be neutralized by a RB in the flat.....

I would think we'd want to use more 2 TE sets and keep their LBers on the field to try and exploite them in coverage with Witten and Fasano...

that's what i think. their cbs are too fast for hurd and crayton to get separation.

but fasano could get open against their slow lbs. maybe tony curtis.

The reason their LBs seem to always been in the right spot is cuz they really don't ask them to do a whole lot. But they're also very smart.

But you won't ever see Bruschi running 25 yards down field, one on one with a TE.

Mort was on 103.3 earlier and he was saying that Bruschi wasn't anywhere near the player he was a few years ago, and actually has fallen off a lot. I wonder if there's a way to exploit that. I'd love to see Witten outmuscle him a few times.

And I still wish Hoyte could blast the absolute hell out of him -- Hoyte's big and tough and plays with a mean streak.

BTW, I got the idea that Mort was rooting for us. He said he'd had some run-ins with Belicheat where he was pretty much a jerk.
