The penalties could have been worse.

Even though the refs called 40 penalties according to Sportscenter, only 20 of them for 200 some yards were official. Here' the record for most penalties from nfl.com

Most Penalties, Both Teams, Game
37 Cleveland (21) vs. Chi. Bears (16), Nov. 25, 1951
35 Tampa Bay (20) vs. Seattle (15), Oct. 17, 1976
34 San Francisco (22) vs. Buffalo (12), Oct. 4, 1998

Most Yards Penalized, Both Teams, Game
374 Cleveland (209) vs. Chi. Bears (165), Nov. 25, 1951
310 Tampa Bay (190) vs. Seattle (120), Oct. 17, 1976
309 Green Bay (184) vs. Boston (125), Oct. 21, 1945

It could have been worse!! Still Dallas needs to tighten it up for the next game.

We are still making to many mistakes...this is supposed to be a very disaplined BP team...

I was not comfy until Vandy made the FG...thoughts of last week and last years game would not let me be calm.

If we can get past our own mistakes we should pummel some teams.

Aside from the actual penalty yardage, if you factor in all the yardage we lost because of the big plays that were called back, the impact was much bigger than the basic stats show.

We were indeed.

However, the refs were way to flag happy. Some iffy calls and some WHAT!!?? calls. They set the tempo early. They shouldn't be setting the tempo, IMO.

Your not kidding. a 50 yard play off a screen play was one of the biggest.

Imgaine if JOnes, didnt get tired, and made that last cut, and took it to the house, only to get called back. Talk about a back breaker

I thought it was a great setup on the screen and then seeing what the refs called I was pretty PO'ed on what looked like a pretty ticky tack foul.
