Yep Reid didn't have a Qb just like Chip doesn't. You can win some games with a college offense but at the end of the year your team is wore out just in time for the playoffs. When the NFL expands it roster to 90 then they might have something.

I think they can win 8 -10 games but I can also see them imploding if they don't get the breaks they did last year.
 
While I didn't see the game I saw the box score. Bradford obviously did well going 10 for 10 with 3 TD's. This season is a crap shoot right now IMO. Right now I am not feeling it with our offense, or should I say confidence with all the injuries and the stupid RB situation. But I do like our defense right now a lot better than a season ago. So who the hell knows!

I do think the Eagles will be good as well. Right now I'm not overly impressed with the NFC as a whole and I think the Eagles may be one of the top 4 teams in the NFC this year.

A lot of things have to go right for the Eagles.

They have to start out fast - which looks likely.
Bradford has to stay healthy. Sanchez can't lead them anywhere.
Special teams has to remain one of the best. Like last year, they need this to win consistently.
They must not have a lot of defensive injuries. The last 3rd of the season + playoffs is especially hard on Eagles defenders because of the accumulation of minutes they are on the field. If they lose defensive players to attrition, it will make being a contender much more difficult.

Otherwise, I will admit, that they look impressive, even though I know its preseason. They have improved their talent at RB and QB and that is the most important areas to make Kelly's offense flow.

Week #2 is going to be hard as hell for the Dallas D. We won't have much tape and the Eagles will be extremely fresh. Dallas' OL will have to dominate + control STs + win turnover battle = Victory.
 
The Eagles will be a tough team again this year. I don't worry so much on a man by man talent increase. I think the scheme they run will put a strain on the defenses. I really wish we didn't have them on the schedule until Hardy and McClain came back. They have the ability to spread you out and gash you quickly...
I worry that our offense will still be trying to figure out what it does best in week 2. I know preseason doesn't mean much but it certainly better to have the preseason the Eagles starters have had than the preseason ours have had.

Hopefully defenses figure out how to stop this no huddle crap before it spreads too fast around the league. Leave that gimmick in the college game.
 
It's preseason.

Fans have talked about the Cowboys 'peaking too early' for years. Well, what do they think about a team peaking in preseason?

I think it's obvious that opponents for the Eagles in preseason have decided to just run what they want to run on defense so they can evaluate their players and personnel groupings instead of gameplanning for the Eagles and having to change what they normally do for a meaningless preseason game. And before I forget...the Colts, Ravens and Packers do not face the Eagles this season. So why would they gameplan for the Eagles? Especially for a style of offense that requires a lot more sprinting which is more likely to cause pulled hamstrings?

Defenses have figured it out to a degree. Every time the Eagles have faced a better than average defense under Kelly, their offense has been anemic.

It's pretty easy to figure out because the flaw in no huddle is that it required simplicity in the scheme. You can't do motioning to help figure out the coverage or the blitz disguises or get a player into a mismatch. So defenses can play a lot of simple man-to-man and press coverage on the outside...set up some blitzes from time to time.

And the fact is that every single QB in Kelly's scheme has gotten injured so far in the NFL.

The only thing that worries me a bit is that Bradford is far more accurate on short and intermediate throws and has a far quicker release (great for bubble screens) than Vick, Foles, Sanchez and Barkley. I think they'll be better in short yardage with DeMarco (and maybe even with Tebow). And I think they have got more of the WR's that Kelly likes (big tall WR's that can run block and screen block).

But I think with Bradford, they have basically eliminated any real read-option because he's not a threat to run. That takes away the criss-cross movement of the offense a bit and makes it easier to contain the play action. Plus, I still think the Eagles got Bradford in hopes of trading up for Mariota. Mariota has a quick release and is very accurate on short and intermediate throws like Bradford, but the difference is he's a far bigger threat to run the ball. So with Bradford, I get the feeling that Chip doesn't think it's unstoppable otherwise he would not have tried to get Mariota.

The big thing with this is you need players in the secondary that can tackle and a pass rush that gets upfield with DE's that aren't afraid to hustle out to the perimeter if they throw a bubble screen which I think we have the DE's for with Gregory and Hardy. I think our secondary is the question mark as I like what I've seen from White as far as tackling goes. He's better at tackling than Moore. I think Patmon is a step up as well. But, losing Scandrick and replacing him with Claiborne is a step down, particularly when it comes to tackling.

Nobody prepares for it, and nobody plays more than 20 snaps or so. Constant rotation of players, no fatigue, and no clue on the defense on how to play hurry-up defense because, well, IT'S FREAKING PRESEASON!

Then the games start, and the Eagles defenders get to play a million snaps a game. God forbid they go 3-and-out a couple of times in a row; the Eagle defense will get about 30 seconds rest.

For one game or maybe one month, it works. But then all these teams they play have to deal with it once, while the Eagles are dealing with it every single week. Legs get tired, injuries increase from more snaps, and the mileage on the tires adds up faster.

Chip shortens careers, and players are going to wise up to that soon.

How did Bradford go from being a laughable joke to a great QB when he's had to learn a new system?

Maybe he turns them into aerobic animals though, who tire other teams out.

That's what worries me.

Other teams don't train at this intensity and the Eagles players are better conditioned for war.

First off, the CBA doesn't allow him to work his players out any more than other teams, so that's moot.

Second, they wore down badly the past two years. Players even complain about it there.

That offense works against teams that you can out-recruit and out-talent in college. Not in the NFL.

The league has figured out that offense. Even the Cowboys defense made them struggle in Philly the past two years. The Cowboys held them to three points there in 2013 with an awful defense.
