I may not have all the specifics down exactly but I think im close. Im just dragging it over here because im WAYYYYYYY too lazy to retype it all!..LOL Here goes.........BA DA BING!! You know, every once in awhile my demented mind happens to just stumble on to something pretty good. LOL. Here goes, just hear me out on this..............One discontented player for another. Roy Williams our 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick for Shaun Rogers. He wants out of Cleveland and he wants out RIGHT NOW! We are going to get rid of Williams anyway, and we have 2 5th round picks right now as it sits, Plus when we get awarded our comp pick for losing Julius Jones it looks like were gonna have 3 fifth round picks. I have read that even if we were to trade Roy Williams we would STILL save some cap space. And get this.....Rogers contract in Cleveland isnt all that bad. He signed an extention last year that put him at a little over 7 million per year. Heck....Canty wants EIGHT MILL PER! Rogers is only 29 and has Texas Roots.

Never really watched Rogers till last season. Had no idea how good he was. Looked up his stats. THEY ARE WHOPPING for a nose tackle. He's doing things that nobody else is. Remember, Haynesworth played in a 4-3 NOT a 3-4. Rogers is listed at 6-4 350, but he's really 360 or so. What first caught my eye was a game on MNF last season. I watched him repeatedly DRIVE TWO O LINEMAN back into the QB's face. This wasnt a play or two either. This was all game long.

Now heres the BEST PART.....We play a ONE GAP 3-4. WOW!!Rogers in a ONE GAP! Lets look at this a second. You have Rogers in the middle, Ratliff at right end, and Ware at right outside linebacker. By my count that means you have 5 blockers accounting for 3 players. Rogers and Ware require 2 each, and Ratliff in my opinion is a frikken beast! That allignment is...UN BLOCK A BLE!

We then come back and draft safety Patrick Chung with our second round pick. We have 2 4th rounders,....We go inside backer and outside backer. We still have 2 fifths.....We go w.r and O line. If we were to get something like this done I think I would go ahead and resign Burnett. Stick him in the middle next to James. Thing is....With that WHOPPER Rogers in the middle he can protect a guy like Burnett and keep blockers off of him by commanding double teams. This way we can use Burnetts great speed to FLOW TO THE BALL, run sideline to sideline, drop into coverage, blitz, ect, ect. With this move not only do we add tremendous bulk to our defense we also inject SPEED with Burnett.

Last season he had 76 tackles and 4 and a half sacks playing nose tackle for the Browns in a TWO GAP parcells 3-4. He also REALLY clogged up the running game in the middle. Ratliff, one of our best players had 51 tackles and 8 sacks in our player friendly one gap 3-4 system. Gotta tell ya.....Im almost DROOLING imagining Rogers, Rat, and Ware lining up next to each other. NIGHTMARE for any off co. I know im repeating myself here but just picture that scenario. Rogers...Ratliff...Ware....lined up together on the same side. Not only are they gonna cause HO LY HE LL on the right side, but the Spencer/Ellis combo is really gonna benefit too. Heck....Spears may even get a few sacks otta the deal...LOL. And there it is. The PLAN....:)

It makes too much sense, so I'm sure Jerry the GM won't do it.

...........Coming from a place that debated the merits of Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson for 3 years straight Im pretty sure im o.k! Thats like debating if you wanna be stranded on an island with Rosanne Barr or Rosie O'Donell. Either way.......you lose.

Rogers best 5 seasons........322 tackles 22 and a half sacks. Casey Hamptons best 5 years....194 tackles 3 and one half sacks. Vince Wilforks 5 year run...260 tackles 7.5 sacks. Jamal Williams 11 year career totals.....307 tackles, 13 sacks. Hmmmmmmmm, the facts would seem to indicate that Rogers pretty well blows them all away.

There is a perception out there that Rogers is a fat and lazy player. Well, he is FAT I guess...:) Thing is, the numbers/FACTS do not support the perception. In fact in no way is the perception even close to reality. We can do this all day long, if this guy is a lazy slug, I'll take that kinda lazy all day long.

OR..... we can just go ahead and draft Sammy Lee Hill in the 5th round from Hooterville, er I mean Stillman and call it a day. Hmmmm, gee , now what would be most logical for a team trying to make a hopeful Superbowl run this upcoming season?

....after the Haynesworth signing.....
......How can THAT be? Rogers has said he wanted OUT of Cleveland LONG before the Haynesworth signing YESTERDAY. Something seems to be amiss. Or did Rogers just esp the numbers on the Haynesworth signing months ahead of time? :p: That Rogers is even more talented that I thought I guess. Run stuffer deluxe AND...SWAMMY!...
