I want Matt Elam. I'm a big Texas fan and I live in Austin, went to UT, etc. But I really want to see Matt Elam become a Cowboy in Kiffin's defense. The guy reminds me a lot of Woodson. If we had a late first round pick, he'd be my guy. I would love to figure out a way to get him.

What are your thoughts on Elam? And who is your most wanted player, regardless of player position or draft position?

I want the biggest difference maker...

TAVON AUSTIN!

Star Lotuleilei or Sheldon Richardson would give us one of the most dominant defensive lines in the game. Star anchoring the Dallas line sounds dominating.

I have to say I like how Eskimo was talking about Cooper and Smith playing next to each other though.

In the history of the NFL, can you name the true difference makers at WR who were 5-8 and 175 lbs?

I have to admit, I'm intrigued by Austin, too. But I think there's a good chance you're right. I think there's a decent chance that, in a few years, Austin is not even the best pro Mountaineer WR from this draft class. And Stedman Bailey's not exactly a titan himself.

I will break this down to some different categories.

Probably will not happen and there are other needs but...

My pet pick would be Tavon Austin.

Chance that it could happen and would fill needs at the spot and is the logical picks...

Cooper
Richardson
Warmack

No too much of a chance that it could happen later in the draft...

Another Homer pick in Stedman Bailey

i'm def not a wvu homer but i agree with Austin and Bailey being players I would love to have. I really want Cooper in rd 1 but Austin and Bailey would be luxuries I'd love to see in big D. They are easily two of the most explosive players in this draft.

He may turn out to be a true difference maker
But when something has never happened in the NFL, there is a reason for it
ESP now with players getting bigger and faster
People can do a lot of stuff in college but one hit in the NFL can change one's perspective

D Jackson is every bit as fast and 'sudden' but he disappears in games all the time
I certainly don't want to risk my rd 1 pick on a risk like that, not when we would have the chance to take an elite OL or DL at that place

A team like the niners who are up there and have 14 picks can afford to take a chance like that not us

Austin is a very different player than Desean. He can run the ball out of the backfield. He isn't afraid of the middle of the field. He is a bit shorter than Desean Jackson and put together with much more muscle and is much more compact and tough than Desean who is pure finesse.

So you can use a guy like Austin on screens, handoffs, passes over the middle, kickoff returns which are all areas where you can't use Desean in the NFL.

I agree that he is a bit of a luxury but #3 WRs see a lot of snaps now and you add in his ability to see the ball out of the backfield and on returns. So I think you can use him a lot like a starter and he will probably get more touches per game than Dez or Miles and maybe as many as Murray.

My first choice is one of the top 3 OTs, 3 DTs or Cooper. But if they are all gone I'd probably rather take Austin or trade down.

I can see your reasoning but it would not be my choice

I don't think he can perform at a great level in the NFL consistently, year after year

If you watch his highlights, hardly anyone can put a hand on him. He has Barry Sanders like escapability - that'll help keep him healthy during his career. He takes slipperiness to a new extreme.

I think he could have a long career. I don't think I've seen anyone quite like him. Reggie Bush was closest but he was more pure speed and not nearly as many moves.

tavon austin is player I want the most. Best cut ability in this draft. I think he would compliment Dez better than Miles Austin does. Then I would hammer away at OL rest of draft.

Then who will play safety and replace rat and hather when they tire out or play RB when Murray gets hurt?
