From the 50,000-watt tower of power that is truth, decency and the American way, such as it is in Farmers Branch, some nuggets of wisdom that can be carried forever. They are that good, my fellow Zoners and hangers-on.
Good on you, Michael Irvin.
Loved the way you played in Dallas. Thanks for the memories. Thanks for giving your all.
This Sunday you will be bestowed with the highest honor the NFL can confer, indictment, um, I mean induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.
You earned it and then some with you stellar playing.
Bravo!
Then there is former Dallas coach Mike Ditka.
He is understandably upset with what he calls the NFL's indifference to aging football players, legends, who believe they deserve more than what their disability checks give them.
I'm with you, Mike. They -- all people -- deserve lots more than they get in disability payments.
But, is that difference of opinion enough to make you stay away from that great ceremony that once honored you?
Ditka says he will stay away from future ceremonies until the situation is reversed.
Crybaby.
You can do A LOT more for your cause by going to Canton and speaking up for your aging buddies.
And you said you had other scheduling conflicts that prevent you from going to Canton Sunday, anyway. Pphhhhfffft!
Almost as ridiculous as Tom Landry saying, when Jimmy Johnson took his first team to the Super Bowl in the early 1990s, that he would be too busy to watch the game. On TV.
Idiocy.

Congratulations to the HOF inductees.
We didn't always applaud for you guys on the field, but on Sunday all NFL fans will applaud you for sure.
