The pressure is now on coach Rod Marinelli

Coach Marinelli definitely warrants a lot of respect. Huge resume of success and the type of intensity that you hope for in a defensive coach. Now all of that is well and good but when are we going to start getting more production out of this defense? Last season our defense improved in the take away margin but was still towards the bottom in sacks and struggled to close out games. I’m aware that we are without a lot of key pieces now but with Hardy, McClain and Gregory coming back the expectations are high. If his scheme cannot generate pressure that leads to sacks and/or cause take aways then it may be time to move on from Coach Marinelli. I’m sure this opinion won’t be a popular one but I feel that I have a valid point, here. With the potential of the front seven that will be taking the field for us soon, we cannot afford to have the opposing Qb comfortably standing in the pocket untouched every throw. If he isn’t able to find a better way to generate pressure and cause turnovers then keeping him on the staff will do us no good.

I don’t think he's under any pressure yet, with Romo, Dez and the artist formally known as number 29 gone, nobody is expecting this team to rack up W's.

But let me tell you something, if 88 and 9 come back and somehow Mclain and Lee are healthy, that crusty auld curmudgeon better put the fear of God in opposing QBs because then there is no excuse.

Pressure is always on coaches. He has to get guys ready and their failures are his failures. Those guy make poor attempt tackling that is on him to correct it, guys confused on coverage that is on Rod to get it fixed. Pressure has always been on, just part of coaching.
