The Real Problem Is That There Isn't Any Single Problem

Thats it folks. There isn't any single problem and as a result there isn't any single cure.

Top down there are problems all along the way. No single move is going to be the quick fix. Jerry taking a back seat isn't going to do it. Getting a new coach isn't going to fix it. New coordinators won't clear everything up. Shipping out players left and right isn't the magic potion.

You hear something new every time you turn the TV on or read another article. Someone thinks the coaching sucks. This person thinks Jerry is Satan. Irvin swears that its the players.

Who do you believe? Who is right?

The correct answer is: No one knows for sure yet they are all right.

Jerry seems to get a lot of attention for being the "puppet master". Jerry's the problem because he is the man really running things and that won't change until he steps aside. While Jerry is more hands on than other owners, I don't think there is a single person who could question his desire to win. He pays out the *** for as much talent as he can get and he does so to win. Anyone who thinks he is spending money only to move pieces around like hes playing chess without regard for the outcome is seriously underestimating the guy. He brings in talent, pays to keep the talent the team develops and has brought in coaches who many of us have said was the right guy. The guy can't win. If he doesn't fire Wade, hes meddling. To others, if he fires Wade hes a joke because changing coaches every 2-3 years is laughable. I really don't know how he can catch as much heat as he does. I suppose its his visibility. If he didn't get the TV time, I doubt anyone would care. If there is one thing that Jerry does that I find him guilty of it is he lets the fan inside him get the best of him at times. Does that have an affect on the team? I dunno but his comment about underestimating the Rams sure as hell looked like they reflected the play on the field. He definitely has a big homer inside of him and if you asked him prior to each game about the outcome, I think he'd have Dallas winning every game.

Wade contributes by being a guy who is seemingly always content. I'm not sure if he is guilty of much else but there has to be something with him vowing to change. I think this is BS by the way. If the guy is going to admit his way is wrong, why even see what the hell happens if he tries someone else's way. What changes can Wade even be talking about. I think the guy would be alright if he would just put higher expectations on the players. No longer is just getting by good enough, get your job done.

Garrett takes blame for the offensive performance and some of it is justified. Play calling is all his fault IMO. I don't want to hear about Romo audibles. If Romo is making the wrong decision, its Garretts job to take control. Which bring me to another point some have made about Garrett. I've heard people say that he is hampered by trying to appease people. If that is the case, he is definitely not doing his job and is weak. I've taken a big issue with his play calls and don't think that player execution has anything to do with it. Executed or not, his attempts at converting on 3rd and short give you the impression that he just doesn't have faith in the team to succeed if told to get their ***** out there and gain that yard. Biggest OL in the league and Dallas has to resort to an option, screen pass, FB dive and others. Why the hell not a QB sneak? I am glad that Romo called that play because it was so damn easy that it might actually be added to the playbook. That is one thing I like about BP. He's not a guy to accept that his players are incapable and look for another route. If you couldn't get done what he wanted, he found someone who could. And why did Garrett go to such plays? What happened to "F-that, were not doing that this year". I thought we weren't going to go with the excuses? There is no excuse for not just putting the team out there and demanding they get 6 inches.

If Garrett were to go, I don't think it would be the biggest possible hit. The offense was good enough to win before he got to Dallas. Sure, the thought of a young HC to lead the team for a couple decades is all great and stuff but what was seen in the later part of the season just won't cut it. Improve or move.

I think the players get a free pass a lot of times. I know Romo does. Can't stand it when people just say to look the other way because hes so much better than what was once here or just because makes so many good plays. However, unlike Irvin I am not going to say that it is all about the players. If it was, how do you explain the major defensive improvement that took place when Wade took over? Its the coaches job to put players in the best possible position to succeed. If they don't, the team is already in a hole. If you have a guy out there who doesn't think he is in the right position or that he can't succeed in his role, you have already lost. You can't win when players are already mentally defeated before the snap.

So whats the answer? Can't be more Talent. Dallas literally has as much talent as any team could want. Coaching has to be some of it but how much? I think Jerry has the least amount to do with things but who really knows.

Personally, I don't think a coaching change or mass player change will help things. If Wade leaves, I think it just gives the team another out should things not work out. What I think will help the most is just for the team to have high expectations. Not the kind where they expect to win just on showing up but higher expectations on how they perform. And if expectations aren't being met, find someone who can meet them. Starting at the top and working its way down, I think this team just needs to expect more of each other. From Wade, I think people need to expect him to not settle. For Garret, expect no excuses and expect adjustmets. For Romo, its simple, NO TURNOVERS.

Keep things as are, allow players another year in the system and raise the expectations. No more "good enough".

Will it help? I dunno. One thing I can almost assure is that it won't do near the damage that starting from scratch would do. It really can only help.

There have been a bunch of things not work out for us, but we have had enough pieces to get by and win. But the players didn't. That is the problem and it is a single reason. Now the reason why has to be found out. Is it the players not caring? Is it too many stars? Is it the coaches not changing? Is it the players not respecting the coaches? It could be anything but riding things status quo is, IMHO, a dumb way to resolve things. It wasn't scheme and continuity.. it was heart.

A coach and a team have to work together. Ours do not. I am different from others here because I am putting blame on the players. It is just easier to bring in a new coach that fits the players than to bring in all new players to fit the coach.
