14 turnovers, 11 interceptions, 3 fumbles
Drew Bledsoe was benched due to 8 interceptions and one fumble in 5.5 games. He is averaging 1.6 turnovers per game.
We can talk about how bad the line is playing and how Drew holds onto the ball and how many sacks that he takes, but turnovers are often the biggest factor in wins and losses. Bledsoe has been in the league for 14 seasons, so he should know how important it is to take care of the ball. As bad as we were outplayed in the Philly and New York games, the defense still came up with enough turnovers to give the offense an opportunity if the offense didn't turn the ball over multiple times. This game would have been a close game if Drew didn't throw the interception at the end of the first half and Tony didn't throw the interception to start the third quarter. Both interceptions were horrible, ill-advised throws.
The key to the rest of the season is how well Romo takes care of the football. If he throws a lot of interceptions, we will finish below .500. If he takes care of the ball, the team is still good enough to make the playoffs and win a game. As far as the division or superbowl, the team just isn't good enough yet. The Giants are a lot better than the Cowboys, but the Eagles are not.
