Dalton and Fitz are still playable backups. QBs that can play 2-4 games if need be. They are not suitable replacements for your QB. Think of 2015. Unlike the QBs Dallas used to replace Romo, Dalton and or Fitz could probably win a few of those games.

I should have responded to this narrative when this QB comment started appearing more and more here at CZ during the latter half of the Cowboys season.
Washington's QB carousel was equal to Dallas in terms of being muddled due to to injury, ineffectivenes, and somewhat indecision in 2020.
    Dallas: Prescott 5, Dalton 9, Dinucci 1, Gilbert 1
    Washington: Haskins 6, Allen 4, Smith 6
With that stated, I concur Prescott is the best starting NFC East QB slated to begin the 2021 season.

I like Dalton as a backup. Love Fitz. But no way Dalton was doing anything our poor protection.

    The hell? lol....

McLaurin isn't the only weapon. Guice was cut a year ago and is out of the league.

I think Taylor earned the chance to start in that playoff game. I would start him and then have fitz to go to, if taylor fizzled.

You make a great point. Some of these fans have very short memories and they seem to forget that the team was stinking when those players were healthy in the previous season. From reading some of these comments, you would think that the injured players was the one and only reason why the team was so bad last year. I don’t know what the excuse was for stinking it up in 2019, but injuries was the reason for last year’s debacle, no doubt. LMAO

No QB would look good with the protection that Dalton suffered through.

As would I. If you wanted to replace Taylor with Stafford or someone I’d get it but to do what he did and now have to earn his job over Fitz?

Don't understand the narrative. Extrapolate Dalton's 2170 yards over essentially 8 games & he would surpass any Prescott year except for 2019. He averaged over 10 yds per completion. Not to mention he had to deal with a concussion and Covid. QB play wasn't the primary reason for the team results so I don't understand why anyone would be throwing shade at the guy who kept them from being 1-15.

Honestly ... Cowboys are so vastly popular, they are not only picked to win the NFC East,.. but win the entire Super bowl,... just about every single year ... :yourock:

Are you joking? Dak ran the NFL's more prolific offense when he was in there. 37 points a game and outpaced the "greatest show on turf" Rams offense. Statistically anyway.

Your numbers are waaaay off. It took Dalton nearly the ENTIRE season to catch up to what Dak did in 4.5 games. 1800 yards.

Dalton sucked and does suck. Fact is we went from the best offense in NFL history to one of the worst in the NFL by going from Dak to Dalton. 32 points a game to 21 points a game.

I've seen that movie before and until they actually do something besides being paper champions I'm not putting them first in anything!

Wow Roy ,so many flaws in your perspective it is unreal as your view of dak and offense last year.

For one thing you cant compare dak to dalton ,Dak only played 4 games, and he had what seemed to be great passing stats,
but it is flawed to use that to extrapolate an entire season of him doing that for rest of season.
Dak played early on, and had less bkups to play with, and some team mates played hard for him, and coasted with dalton.

Also where was the 37 point a game best nfl offense in the first game with rams ?? They only scored 3 points in 2nd half , 0 in 4th qrt. 17 total.
And in that game he had smith and martin williams, and lael was out whole season, but he had the top replacement for lael for at least part of that game.
I just watched that game few days ago, and dallas offense was avg at best.

Nothing flawed about the stats Dak and the offense put up buddy. Especially with the banged up line. Try as you might to discount them.

If you want to nit pick, we can do so with the defense. Plenty to go around there.

FACT: Dallas had the #1 offense in NFL history through the first 4 games of the year.
