THey are a different team at the Superdome but on the road they have benefited from years of atrocious records to pad their schedule. This will be a road loss against a formidable opponent for them, something outside of Baltimore and Atlanta earlier on and both at home they have not faced.

Not saying that they are good or anyting...but when they beat Atlanta, Vick and the Falcons were doing good. I mean if we go by your analogy, The Cowboys have only beaten one good team and that is the Colts, we haven't beaten a team above .500. The thing that many have mentioned in other threads as well is that their road record is not good at all. They barely beat Clevland, and Pittsburgh who has a losing record looked like the defending champs. Even in GB, they only beat them by a TD, the Packers team is struggling in every single way possible.

Dallas will win this game, end of story

The Saints are a GOOD football team. I don't understand why people are trying to play them down. Nerves?

Hmmm, the Saints haven't beaten a team with an over .500 record... indeed, they've only PLAYED two games against teams with an over .500 record-- the Ravens, who beat them 35-22, and the Bengals, who beat them 31-16... so in two games against good teams, the Saints lost by an average of 14 points per game...

The teams they've beaten have played to a combined 37-59 record, a .383 winning percentage... the teams that have beaten them have a combined 27-21 record, a .563 percentage...

Seems they've benefitted greatly from an unusually cushy schedule... which is nice, but it doesn't exactly make they a tested, tough playoff team, does it??

Aw, I make a few posts most every week, LOL...

Got a bit of a promotion here at work, it's taken me off of the graveyards and put me over in the corporate office... the boss has 4 hotels now, a fifth is going to open in March, and he has 3 other properties he's looking to develop in the next 2-3 years, so the job's getting too big for our comptroller to handle by himself, and I've been tapped to help out...

Given that our comptroller is rather elderly, and starting to suffer from some health problems, I may ultimately wind up taking over for him when it comes time for him to pack it in (which I hope isn't any time soon, he's a good guy)...

So my schedule is kind of out of whack these days... you can rest assured, though, that I'm enjoying this season immensely (so much so, that I'm WAY behind in my draft research)...

:D

I agree. They are pretty good. They haven't beaten an over .500 team because of some of those wins. They beat Atlanta twice and the Eagles. If they didn't, then they would be over .500. So lets beware of the logic we use. I mean, we don't have the most impressive resume either. Using the "over .500" logic we have only beaten the Colts. A good win no doubt, but just one win.

I say we forget the schedules and just look at the records. An 8-4 record is tough to accomplish in today's league. The Saints are just plain good. But so are we. And lets just hope we are great on Sunday.

That depends on how you look at it. NY WAS above .500 before we played them.

You don't get to 8-4 in this balanced league by accident. They are a VERY good offensive football team and if you take this team lightly, you'll be in big trouble. I've watched them play 5 times this year. They are solid. They could use help defensively but they put up very good numbers offensively.

I don't care who they played before......

They are good I agree. Their offense worries me going downfield against our safeties. The difference I think will be we are at home. We should be able to put up 28-35 on them if we don't have any hangover from the Giants game. Also, if history tells us anything from other teams in the league having Peyton on the other sideline bothers me. You know just like Mangini a few weeks ago, he will have his boys fired up to try to beat Bill.

Looking over their schedule, other than the Ravens, they haven't lost to any top teams either.

So if the Saints were to have gone 1-1 against ATL making ATL a winning team would that be better then going 2-0 against them because technically that would make Atlanta a winning team? I don't think so. Also, the Saints did beat the Eagles with McNabb back when they were 4-1, is that not a good win because the Eagles went on to go 6-6? Interestingly enough your team put the Giants and Panthers at 6-6 so should the football world not call those good wins now? Ok, in that case you guys are 1-1 against winning teams, good job, but don't act like your schedule is worlds better than the Saints when the combined winning percentage of the teams you have defeated is .450 and a whopping .397 if you take out the Indy game. To be perfectly honest I don't like this game, I don't like how injured the Saints are right now, and I hate the fact that it's a road game that could decide a first round bye, but give the Saints some credit here.

But in all fairness who have the Cowboys really beaten, except for the now very beatable Colts. I don't think we should be bragging here now. Those wins are no more impressive than the Saint's victories.

Washington 4-8 -
Tennessee - 5-7 -
Houston - 4-8 -
Carolina - 6-6 -
Arizona - 3-9 -
Indianapolis - 10-2 -

Tampa Bay - 3-9 -
N.Y. Giants - 6-6 -

SB, I sure hope you don't allow your job to get in the way of all your draft research and input regarding the Cowboys. Keep your priorities straight.
