The same problems we're harping on today existed before TO showed up.

It's time for some people to wake up and sniff the smelling salts. Whether TO is here or gone in 07 the same problems we've had over the past 4 years continue to haunt us.

- lackluster preparation
- a bend but don't break passive defense
- Zimmer
- an underwhelming offensive line
- Parcells
- lack of any creativity whatsoever on the defensive side of the ball

These things were here before TO showed up and it's time some people started to recognize something other than the vaunted "drops stat" made famous this year by BSPN. It's a travesty that people continue to overlook the obvious deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball. I'm glad of one thing. Jerruh isn't listening to any of you. Thank goodness for that. Otherwise Zimmer would receive yet another season pass.

We will be one and done in the playoffs. You can sugar coast that as much as you want. Ignore it. Whatever. There are too many existing problems for us to suddenly pull it together and win 3 on the road.

Here's to mediocrity yet again next year if nothing is done about our defensive issues. :toast2:

It's pretty simple:

We rebuilt the D in 05

The D has 6 1st rd draft choices

We change the scheme from 4/3 to 3/4

Multiple Choice:

Now who are what is the problem?

a. Zimmer

b. Parcells

c. scheme

d. all of the above

How do you fix the problem?

a. Fire Zimmer

b. Bring in a 3/4 DC

c. all of the above

Yeah but we're a better team than we were with Campo as head coach.

I'm in favor of bringing in a DC who has significant experience running the 3-4.

I understand we can't simply bring in Pitts' DC because that would be a lateral coaching move.

But I would look at the LB and Secondary coaches of several 3-4 teams.

Sorry, this year is different. There's a lot of frustration and animosity in the locker room.
Its easy to blame the coaches, but when the players aren't all on the same page, and personal achievements are put ahead of team accomplishments, eventually its going to blow up.

Ask the 2005 Philadelphia Eagles.

I think we can now officially refer to this as "The Loser's Lament" (tm).

We still had those problems, then added another one in el dorado, without solving the oline problems. Not what a championship team does. Instead of adding problems, Champs solve thier problems. That would make el dorados addition a mute point and just like his mouth, worthless.

I'm calling your bluff. This year is no different than the last three. The team started with high hopes only to have them get dashed when the lack of preparation caught up with them at season's end. It's easy to make TO the scapegoat because by doing so we can continue to mask the real problems. We don't want to face the fact that for the last 4 years we've pretty much been spinning our wheels. I applaud Parcells for getting us into the playoffs but this is the same old tune we've heard for the past 4 years. Parcells has lost his edge. On the defensive side of the ball we have somehow managed to put together the greatest waste of talent ever known to man. Let's talk about the real problems affecting this team that will still be here once TO is jettisoned at the end of the season. We don't even want to get into the blatant misuse of his talents on the offensive side of the ball. That's a whole new story.

Silver Lining: We've found our QB. Thank goodness for that! However, there are still a multitude of problems that need to be fixed before we can say we've arrived as a collective team. Romo can't do it all by himself. We need a defensvie effort that's aggressive not scared. We need a defense that keeps us guessing not one that we can call out from the comfort of our own homes. If we know what the defense is doing you can bet your bottom dollar the opposing offense is about to have them for dinner.

Yes, I agree the same problems were here before T.O.. He's having the best season a Cowboys WR has ever had and yet he to blame for Vanderjagt's Misses, Bledsoe's Int's, Poor Coaching, Bad Secondary and Offensive Line play. Why don't we blame him for Hoyte's missed block against the Eagles why we're at it and Throw in Colombo's missed block vs the Commanders for good measure!.:bang2:

This reasoning is very confusing to me.

It is actually easier to blame one, Terrell Owens as opposed to blaming many, the Coaching Staff.

The offense struggled last night, but folks the problem is not with the offense.

The 2005 Eagles had a few issues not just T.O./McNabb. A theme in the Eagles locker room was the way they squeeze their Veteran players over 30 and when young players like Rod Hood refuses to sign below market Extensions they find themselves on the Bench. On top of that they had a team Ambassador, Hugh Douglass, running around the lockeroom causing trouble. Also, a lot of the Offense players wanted to run the ball more, like they are this year, but Reid was to stubborn to change.

Now I feel better...

I really hope Jerry Jones isn't of the same opinion as some of the TO haters. I would really hate to jettison the most productive receiver we've had since Irvin and find ourselves still hoping for the best on defense next year. That would turn my stomach.

find way to utilize him. Put him in the slot. Throw some slants his way. Give the guy a chance to make a freaking play before the doubleteam even has a chance to hit him. The lack of creativity on offense and the atrocious preparation on defense are the greater problems. Our defense is predictable, soft, often out of position, and unimaginative when it comes to any disguised blitz whatsoever.

I can call the blitz from the comfort of my own couch. So you know it's toast.

Every team goes through adversity. Its how they handle it that determines the eventual success throughout a season. On offense alone, you don't think players are furious that Terrell Owens is constantly complaining about not getting the ball enough?? Then they see Romo forcing the ball to him so he doesn't complain, and it gets picked off, or he drops it. We have a lot of talented offensive players, and when they aren't all involved there's going to be problems.

Look at Philadelphia. When they went through their mid season slump nobody complained, nobody. They stayed together as a team, and now its paying dividends.

On defense zimmer gets all the blame, but all he is is a front for Parcells. This is Bills Defense. He's the 3-4 guy. The defense works when the players execute. It worked in New York, and it works in New England. I could care less if zimmer was fired, but it wouldn't change anything. The players need to be accountable, and replaced if they aren't executing the scheme properly.

I'm not giving up on Parcells, but his hands off approach with Terrell Owens was a real eye opener for me. It hurt his image, and reputation and its hurting this team.

You didn't know??? Hoyte missed that block because before the ball was snapped TO called his name out and distracted him.
