They may be, but they are something to build on next year. You need building blocks and Quinnen Williams is a building block. If we retain Pickens, which we should, our goal should be building around what we have in the interior D now. We need another pass rusher, probably another LB, a safety and possibly a corner (depending on what we do with Diggs and how Revel turns out).

The LB appears to be a perfect fit and only required a 7th. I would have given more than that if it gets Kenneth Murray off the field...

Yeah, I don't get the buy either after we lost to a team with the lowest record in the NFC West. We lost to a now 3-5 team, with both sides of the ball looking bad, and we buying because we think we going to make a splash in the playoffs? I didn't like the Sell option either in the recent poll, because a reactionary move like that by the Jones in the middle of the season probably would do more harm than good. Would've been best to make moves once the season is over.

3-5-1 with teams in a logjam atop the NFC North and West.
Combine that with NFC losses to Panthers, Bears and now Cards.

These Trades are for the future. This was expected to be a bad season. At least they got 1 great player and 1 possibly good player for the future.

It comes down to how long they play at a high level and for the Cowboys. Since it's about the future, Wilson will be 30 yrs old when the '26 season starts, while Q. Williams will turn 29 during the season next year. These guys will have to play at a high level for Dallas into their mid 30's if this is successful. We shall see.

I don't know. The majority on the zone wanted Sell (not me) or Do nothing until after the season. I don't think most people though a buy was wise. I guess we will see how wise this trade was, if we start winning and make the playoffs or not.
