What if the defense still is horrible for the rest of this season, even with the trades and returning players, will the DC still be here next year? I wanted him gone before these trades.

Yup, 5 year deal. Jerry doesn't pay coaches to sit on the couch. He already prepped fans by saying he did wrong in swapping previous DC 3 times so he's here for the long haul.

There may likely be no reward of an impending championship of any kind, other than a few extra wins, at best. It's better than nothing, but not by much. Nobody has cancelled the 2026 and 2027 seasons because of the 3-5-1 start this year.

These Trades are for the future. This was expected to be a bad season. At least they got 1 great player and 1 possibly good player for the future.

Who is the great player? If you mean Williams, go look at his Next Gen stats and compare them through his career.
He appears to be on the backside of great heading towards average.

Jerry wasn't keen with the idea of paying Micah what he demanded -- aside from being pissed off.

Looks like we'll have to make the best of things, like it or not. I doubt we'd have gone far, anyway.

He was benched from the Bengals because the team decided to give playing time to rookies Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight. The decision was because of Wilson's poor play and the Bengals' 32nd ranked defense. He was a solid special teams player for the Bengals.

We have 3 wins after 9 games. Mathematically a 7% chance of making the playoffs. It’s over . There is no season to save. You lost any last gasp hopes last night.

Throw in a brutal schedule after LV with Phil, KC , Det, Minn and LAC in consecutive weeks. That’s probably 4-10-1. With possibly a couple crap meaningless games end of year against Wash and NYG nobody will care about. 6-10-1 MAYBE…

This team is washed up. Even this offense we can’t count on but if AZ can stop it these playoff contenders coming will . And run roughshod over this defense + Williams.

These trades were needed weeks ago and or before the season. The AZ loss makes these a waste of time this year. Total waste of assets to prop up the season.

This team has shown nothing. Barely beat the Giants and got stomped by the Bears and Cardinals. That is not a playoff team.

Well, there goes my hope, right down the drain. I'm kidding. What we have there now can be replaced by anyone with a prayer of being decent. Those of us that recognized the roster for what it is, already knew 2025 was a non-competitive season so acquiring these guys for the future makes sense.

My only bit of surprise was how impactful Pickens and Williams has been to the offense.......other than this, things seem about right.
