We have a ton of speed at camp this year. I recall the teams of the 90s and they never had this much potential speed and they can catch. When we traded for Galloway it was like WOW but he was really all we had that season. The Tony Romo teams had T.O. and Glenn. Dez and Twill weren't fast. Miles Austin had nice speed.

The guys we have at camp have lots of potential. Guys like; JonVea Johnson, Jalen Guyton, Reggie Davis, Devin Smith and our own Tavon Austin. We have a ton of speed. Dak has alot to use. Even the tight ends like Jarwin and McElroy have some speed for their position. When teams put 8 in the box. Look out for Dak and this group of pass catchers. We have potential for huge gains. I like JonVea Johnson he just looks like he belongs here. Smith and Reggie Davis really have caught my eye. I like Austin but Davis in my eyes has more potential in the slot than austin. Davis has a little more size at 5"11 and he even looks faster than Austin. Davis has nice size to go along with his speed. If we end up with Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Johnson, and Davis I wouldn't be mad at all. I'd also like to place Noah Brown at Tightend. If you watch any game he has played in , he is the best blocker out of all the pass catchers we have . He looks better than Witten too. Why not put him at tightend. He is 6'2" and 235 I'm guestimating. Size wise hed be our Shannon Sharpe who was an undersized tightend who wound up being in the hall of fame. I really feel Noah Brown would be an excellent tightend. He can also jump high people forget that. I don't know what his vertical was but he can jump. He can be our sixth receiver or just try him at tightend. I'm just really impressed with all the speed we have at receiver. The organization has done a good job. What do you guys feel about the collective speed of the reciever group including Cooper, Gallup and co. and all the undrafted free agents we have?https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAGegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw3GRnjEGcVD5HTGKDhadmUw

Johnson, Guyton, Davis, and Smith aren't makiing the team.

And Austin's spot is tenuous.

The receivers will likely be Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Wilson, Brown, and maybe Austin.

I agree on Davis and Guyton. Not ready to rule out JVJ and Smith yet. This team could easily carry 7 wideouts by only going with 2 QB’s and 3 TE’s

Just no need to. Other teams will not sign them, so just put them on the practice squad.

They won't get the ball anyway. Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Witten, Jarwin, Zeke, Pollard.....there's just the one football.

Austin is a virtual lock. If he had an inflated contract I might think otherwise but he’s a lot more versatile than a Wilson or Brown not to mention he has game breaking speed. Austin is a solid 4th WR and PR guy for us and can line up in the slot, out wide or in the backfield.

I don't think Austin is a lock. I like him alot. I wanted him when we traded. The only locks we have are Cooper, Cobb and Gallup. The last 2 to 3 spots are up for grabs.

I don’t see where this ‘cut Austin’ campaign is coming from.

Camp isn't over and someone is gonna get injured or already is and will be affected for a while (Coop.)

The key is speed that can also catch and run routes.

The Cowboys have had many super fast WRs in camp over the years:

Recent Years prior to 2019:
Tavon Austin
Brice Butler
Deonte Thompson
K.D.Cannon

The fastest ever probably in this group:
Alexander Wright (many people claim he ran a 4.1 forty)
Randall Williams 6-3, 230
Teddy Williams
Todd Lowber 6-3, 205
Reggie Dunn 4.24 forty

Others:
Isaiah Stanback
A.J.Jenkins 4.37 forty
Lucky Whitehead

Noah Brown loses his unique abilities as a Blocking WR if he is converted to TE.

In 2018 defenses played Nickel (2 LBs) or Base (3 LBs) as follows against the Cowboys:
Nickel: Noah Brown, 1 TE, 2 other WRs

Base: 2 TEs, 2 WRs

If defenses play base (3 LBs) with Brown and 1 TE in the game, then Brown is just an undersized TE.

With Brown as the 3rd WR vs Nickel, the Cowboys have a match-up advantage in the run game.

I agree about Austin. have said all along that I could see him getting squeezed out once they drafted pollard. I can also see them keeping him as they tend to hang on to guys they "like". At least its a nice problem to have legit talent to choose from.

Devin Smith will make them think about keeping 7 WR's. If not, then depending what happens with Brown, he should be the 6th WR.
Johnson and Guyton will be PS players. If all is even they may go with the cheaper longer contract type player.

Austin is the 4th WR. But he is one of theses players, someone does not like, then many more pile on.
