Being overly optimistic and believing what you want to believe is a real handicap.

I think this FO is very guilty of that far too often.

There's only 3 QB's I'd invest & none are day1-2 draft guys.....couple are on other teams
Release the OC & DC, ST coaches PURTRID on all parts....JG obviously gets the pass here, but that boy ain't outCOACHING anyone
FA spending as quality situation players, big $$$$ and name FA never work here lately

Are you your own lawyer, doctor, handyman? Chance are no, you are not. Experts get paid to do what they are good at. Fans are good at thinking they know better than the folks who get paid but in reality... they just aren't.

As sarcastic as Risen likes to be, and he's certainly got it down to a science (even though I've made it my sole objective to never give him a like. Ha ha ha), we do have quite a bit of young talent on this team, and most of it is as the important positions, even the trenches where most of the hubbub comes from.

Smith, Frederick, Martin, Collins, Lawrence, Gregory, Crawford, Dez, Jones. If we keep Hardy, we have him, Scandrick, and Lee as the "not as young" guys.

That's a good assortment of young talent. Given our draft position, where we didn't get to stack years of top 10 or so picks like Carolina, you can't really ask for much more.

This is a year we can really set ourselves up for Romo's ride into the sunset. We desperately need a QB who can come in and do something should be get injured, and we can use some guys who can play the ball in the secondary, but we do have some talent, and this off-season is setting us up pretty nicely.

Who knows what will happen. I am not even 100% convinced the FO or coaches see what us fans do regarding things like safety play as an example.

Maybe the scouts/coaches/etc just don't want to flat out tell Jerry a guy like Wilcox just cant play in this league.

Maybe they fear for their job if they speak that way. I have no way of knowing, neither does anyone not in that room, I'm just speculating.

No, they see a lot more than we do, considering all the time in the film room and at practice.

Furthermore, their opinions must be based on facts rather than bias or political correctness, or they will be exposed and never coach again.

We can post flippant speculative opinions without much consequence; if they have no accountability, they have no job.

If Jerome Henderson thinks otherwise, fine, but because he gets PAID to make that evaluation does not make him more right than me.

I'll also say that if Jerome Henderson sat and evaluated my work and didn't like it, it wouldn't get me dismissed anymore than mine would him.

He would still be entitled to his opinion if he decided to bother, which is what I choose to do with his work.
