The Titans released a statement on Monday declaring that the team will not allow Jeff Fisher to speak with Dallas if Jerry Jones beckons.

"Dallas has not requested permission to speak to Coach Fisher," a Titans spokesman said. "And in the event they did, there are no circumstances under which permission would be granted." The Titans expect to sign Fisher to a long-term extension once a GM is named.

Jerry must be sending out Feelers to everyone.

When the dream job in Football is open ..... everyone starts getting worried about people deserting them.

I love it :p:

Fisher would be my first choice, depending on what compensation would have been.

Even if he does have a porn-star moustache.

The only thing about bringing in Singletary as a Dc instead of an HC is that we'd be preparing someone else's headcoach.

If Dallas goes the college route you can bet your bottom dollar that man will be Les Miles.

I'm quite warm to the notion of Singletary as headcoach.

Ok, so the Titans won't give Fisher permission to talk to the 'Boys, but what if Fisher wants to talk w/ the 'Boys?

Is it tampering if Fisher approached Jerry?

I refuse to let the dream of Fisher becoming our next HC die!

No, Fisher cannot approach the Cowboys. It's a violation. On the other hand, the Cowboys should still call the Titans and see what - if anything - they would want for him. If the price is too high, why bother talking anyway?

I have been trying to find out whether or not he signed that extension that was offered him. So far, I haven't found anything that says he has signed it. I wonder if we might be looking into thieving him away. He has one year left on his deal - can we still do the draft pick compensation? I thought that was shut down, but Edwards and the Chiefs did it last year.

If we can get him, Fisher is absolutely my choice for head coach. If that extension hasn't been signed, the window might have been left open a crack.
