Thank you CowboyMike, Jerry acquitted himself quite well in the interview. To me Lauer is a bit of an arse really drumming up negatives relative to the completion of the stadium.

Lauer alluded to the cost extravagance of the facility in these tough economic times. What would you have preferred to put the stadium construction completion on hold this year until the recession was declared over? You know the planning and even the construction began before there was a formal declaration of a recession. The struggling economy doesn't stop tv stations or networks from exorbitantly spending on expensive programming which in the scheme of things is even more frivolous than football.

Then he asked Jerry what if the team stinks it up playing the Giants and we lose during this inaugural first home game at Cowboys Stadium. Ok, we will all be disappointed, maybe a little mad and get over it and prepare for the next game.

I supposed the media standard now is that you shouldn't invest in a stadium unless you can guarantee in the absolute that first home game win. What if the first episode of a mega-million new program bombs in the ratings. Fold up the network. This guy is a pinata stuffed with arse rinds.

"This would be a great business if we didn't have to play those football games!"

I think he got that line from Tex Schramm, but I'm not 100% on that.

One would tink that the extravagance kept some of those construction workers from unemployment....

No kidding. A private company spending hundreds of millions of dollars on construction helps the economy, it doesn't hurt it. What hurts the economy is businesses NOT spending money.

i posted on another post with mickey spagnola comments with jerry jones;

mickey said there were going to be some big surprises at the new stadium, like one of them 4 new video boards so people can view the game if they arent in the stadium some way;

also i remember jerry jones saying on his special edition or somewhere, jerry did say that the star would be on the field the first home game;

also, jerry didnt go into it in a lot of detail, but they are going to show some other things with the video board, and when they have the dome open, some other stuff will be shown too

also something about being able to cue in with the video board on players getting MRI, or in locker room etc, on sidelines up close and personal and the cowboys have plans to do alot more with the video board, something that no other stadium can do;

I see the blue wall and white stars on the endzone wall. Looks nice.
I'm gonna have to disagree on that one. I really love our new stadium and I think all the hoopla over the videoboard amounts to pure jealousy but the one thing that I can pick out of the new stadium that I found wasn't up to Cowboys' standards was the screenprint of the stars on a pad around the field. I think it's low quality and would much prefer something along the lines of what we had at Texas Stadium. JMO

i saw it...btw there was no star on the field yet????

When was this shot?! You'd think if it was this week that star would have been sewn in by now. Unless they're doing it fri/sat with an empty stadium to make it a super secret. Maybe it'll be covered with turf and pull it away to reveal it. I'm getting excited either way!!

Really? I think it looks great. The stars hanging on the blue in Texas Stadium always looked a little cheap to me. Like those plastic things you hang up for parties. They didn't even match the Cowboys logo.

These new stars have the correct outline and are much nicer looking, matching the logo. They look like they belong instead of an afterthought.
