Which of these is the biggest surprise of 2005?

1) B. Roethesburger (121) AFC
2) C. Palmer (104) AFC
3) P. Manning (98) AFC
4) D. Bledsoe (97) NFC
5) T. Brady (94) AFC

Hint: Just check Fantasy football. All this despite Drew's bad week at Seattle.

Note: the AFC has greater disparity between top and bottom teams. The NFC is more of a logjam, hence 4 of the 5 highest rated QBs are in the AFC.

Ben plays tonite but barring a total collapse will still lead tomorrow.

I was just looking at the stats and was about to post the same thing. Good job. Bledsoe has been outstanding for us this year and was a great pickup for us. As long as we can protect him and give him time he should continue to shine.

BR is a bus driver. Don't get me wrong, he is doing a good job, but he throws like 12 - 15 passes a game.

He is always like 9-13 for 107 yds or something.

Call him what ever you want but his number including yardage, TD and completion % ranks in the tops of the NFL. If he is a Bus Driver then there are a lot of bus drivers in the NFL right now.

Did you see the Steelers when Maddox played the one game Big Ben was injured? They were awful. Big Ben is not just a bus driver.

My mistake I just saw you were referring to Roethlisberger

He is 26th in yardage, and 15th (middle of the pack) in TD's

He has only thrown 100 passes, only one QB has thrown less.

He is a bus driver. Granted, a good one, but if you stop the run, he can't beat you.

BR has never taken over a game. He has never had it all on his shoulders and pulled it out. Untill he does that he is a bus driver.

Drew's bad interception last week - the one game you can really blame him for losing (vs. Oakland where you can blame him for not winning by not seeing Witten), was the ONLY 4th quarter turnover of the WHOLE SEASON! That's 2 full games worth of 4th quarters and only 1 turnover (fumble OR interception) - .5 per game - an acceptable amount. (Quick, someone figure out Drew's 4th quarter rating). I bet it's high.

Blaming last week on Bledsoe is wrong- a whole lot of people had to screw up before his finished it off. Had Cortez hit the FG, had this happened and that happene, etc. Bledsoe was the LAST one- but he had a lot of company.

Ask yourself this: how many games did Drew put the Cowboys in a position to win this year?

A review:

1) San Diego - 4th quarter game winning drive by Bledsoe
2) Washington - Defense blows lead. Not enough time left.
3) San Francisco - 4th quarter game-winning drive by Bledsoe.
4) Oakland - 4th quarter drive for Cowboys stalls inside the 5.
5) Philadelphia - Perfect whole game for Drew. 3 TDs 0 INT.
6) NY Giants - Game winning drive in OT for Drew (3/4 49 yards).
7) Seattle - Defense blows lead - Drew throws pick. 50 yd FG.
8) Arizona - Near perfect passing for Drew. 80% completions.

That's 2 games the Defense could have won for us without Drew doing anything else - and one pass Drew missed to Witten. Asking for more is asking for perfection.

Last week ? What was last week ? The only game I remember is beating the Cardinals and running our record to 5-3.

Now we have two weeks to prepare for the Iggles.

I agree, I was excited when we signed him and have been thrilled at his play.

But 2) Granted it was not Drew's fault that the D gave up the two long bombs, but there was time to drive down and kick a FG but he didn' get it done.

I didn't see your 2nd post until after I posted, who were you thinking of ?

As much as our starting QB takes hit around here I thought you were referring to him.

You're right - there was more time then I remembered, but there were some penalties, a drop, and Drew completed a 9 yard pass on the final play, needing 10.

No, not from me.

I was glad when he signed and he is doing just what I knew he could if we protected him.

finally someone with some sense and stats to back it up says what i think about roethlisberger. he has never shown me anything spectacular, especially in the dallas game (bias aside) when he was praised for leading them from behind and all that jazz.

thank you WV
