The trades NFL experts think the Cowboys should make

The Cowboys are done with band-aide fixes. An aging vetetan is expensive with limited production. Worse, they impede the progress of the younger players that have potential to be better and more productive down the road.

If the Cowboys make a trade, it will be for a young player.

I don't see some people's problem with throwing a 5th or 6th round pick for a guy that can be a legitimate rush threat every down for this Super Bowl push.

We have a legit chance at being the best team in the NFC THIS year and people are saying "build thru the draft"..............I got news peeps....the draft isn't until next April.

Why wait to take a chance on a "Ryan Russell or Brandon Williams" late round pick when we can improve NOW and go for it all? That's what trades are for.

Im not usually one for sacrificing your future for the present, but you dont get many opportunities like this and you cant waste them. We've been to 1 postseason in the last 6 years. It's not a given we're gonna be as good next year as we've been so far this year. Why not make an attempt to better ourselves for this year as long as it doesnt cripple us for the future? We got a great shot of making it to the Super Bowl NOW, so I dont see why we shouldnt try to better our situation this year. A legit pass rush would make this team as close to "dominant" as it gets in the NFC.

If you could trade Dmac for a 6th, then trade a 5th for Wake, the cost would be minimal and you are solving 2 problems. Wake's contract is relatively cheap for a guy who has 20 pressures, making him one of the most productive pass-rushers on a per-snap basis this year.

To get out of his contract next year or the year after is again relatively cheap.

The D would look a lot better with a guy who can bring pressure.

We have guys on this team far younger who have supplied just as much of not more. That's why you don't waste money on past their prime guys.

Got any names? I haven't seen anyone outside of Irving who can bring anything. And the staff has a problem with Irving so even though he's young he plays < 20 snaps.

I'm not against drafting and young guys, but it's not ethier/or.

Why is it one or the other?
Mainly because of the salary. Wake is older and under contract for a few more years. He is on the downside of his career. If his contract were up at the end of the year, then I would say yes.

Draft picks are cheap. Supplementing picks with producing "bridge" vets maximizes today without sacrificing the future. Huge contracts with huge guaranteed money for replaceable players are the cap killers. Since Wake's cap hit would only be salary, releasing him would cost nothing if he isn't producing or if one these young guns becomes something. This is how teams like the Eagles get out their perceived cap hell so quickly.

I think Lawrence and Irving are far better. I think Tyrone Crawford is. It's not about who's better though for me it's about seeing what we have.

Can't disagree with seeing what we have. TCraw hasn't been very food this year, same for Tank but he's just coming back. He did an almost Anthony impression first week back, then completely disappeared before leaving the next week.

Irving seems like he could become something, and I've stumped for him repeatedly, but something about him gnaws at Marinelli so he doesn't see the field much. Irving is the anti Hayden for Rod.
