The Turpin experiment needs to be over!

It looks to me like he starts to run at a hole, and that hole is immediately closed up, so he has to find another one, then that one gets closed up, etc.
It often seems worse than that, he's running slow too the hole, and he'll see a hole and instead of going elsewhere, he goes right there!!

When Turpin first came to the Cowboys his kickoff returns were far more effective than they are now. Whether the blocking had changed or Turpin was just coached badly, I'm somewhat unsure of.

He used to go wherever his instincts led him to believe where to attack. Now, he simply runs right smack into the most crowded area, hoping to get the best results. I suspect the coaches may have misled him to do what wasn't best to do. He fared better by following his own instincts. Leave it to the coaches to screw up a really good thing. Here's hoping he reverts back to being his old self.

Post of your career!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just said this to someone, he seems to run right where it's clogged up at instead of looking elsewhere to run, it's confusing and I wish he would get back to where he was

He's only a valuable weapon if he ACTUALLY takes some to the house. That said, he's cheap, and at least provides elite speed, which cannot be taught.

Turpin needs to be better, yes....but he should be a real asset on this team.

First, we need better offensive schemes that utilize his speed. More slants, and quick outs, and screens...get him in space, or get him 1-on-1 on some average slot CB or safety, and it will ALWAYS be some 2nd-tier DB covering him with CD and Pickens on the field.

On kickoff returns, we need better blocking.

And on punts, he's forced to call too many fair catches because the outside gunner blockers ain't doing their job. If the outside guys block better, then Turp can catch the ball without a fair catch. So, again, better blocking on punts, primarily from the outside guys.

....which leads us to questioning if the new Special Teams coach is doing his job well with the Special Teams. Right now, I don't see it.

taking all the credit for Aubrey being the best player on the team!!!

At what point do we have a discussion about special teams coach Nick Sorenson?

Because everything is worse this year as far as the return game. Turpin's returns, the kick and punt coverage units, all of it.

:hammer:

At this point, CT, now is that time.

Hmmm I never thought of this. Maybe this is it. He normally makes it in the tip 20 fastest Ball Carriers. But this season he isn't on that list. Maybe because he seem to be doing a lot of jogging during his returns.
that or he has gained too much weight, or isnt staying in top shape now that he has his deal, and is firmly on the team.
