It amazes me how many posters on this board jump to conclusions and act as if the season has already fully been played and we are already waiting on the draft. It is less than halfway through the season and many think we have no chance in the playoffs and are essentially playing in the special olympics which is the NFC East.

The truth of the matter is that there is a lot of football left to be played. The end result is that the Cowboys could win the Super Bowl, or finish with a 4 and 12 record and get a high draft pick. The good news is that right now we look closer to doing the former than the latter.

The amazing part of the assumptions people make do not take into account injuries to this team AND TO OTHER TEAMS. If The QB's for Seattle, Green Bay, San Fran, The Broncos, etc. were lost for the year, is would greatly affect that team's playoff chances. Likewise, if Seattle were to lose a corner or two, then all of a sudden they become a lot more vulnerable. It is way too early to know how this will shake out..... but I think we have the abilty to beat any team in the NFL and not need a miracle to do it. With the way that this defense is starting to play ... it also improves our chances .... so let's give the constant negativity a rest, shall we?

We are lucky that the NFC east is like what the NFC west was for years... Otherwise EVERY game could be do or die for just a possible wildcard spot. Starting last week.

In b4 1 playoff win in 17 years, mediocre team, until I'm shown different, ill expect the same thing year after year.

And don't forget those who are already talking about the playoffs because we've already won the NFC East.

I disagree. This division will be looked at differently at the end of this year than it is viewed currently. The Commanders may be a hated rival, but they will start to win some games with RGIII back and getting healthier. The Giants always start off slow, but they wont make a super bowl run this year. But the odds that they will continue to suck at the level they have isn't very high. The Eagles will win some games if Vick gets healthy.

Well, I think that some of what you say here is true but the other side is that you really can only base things on current circumstances. Just as you make the very valid point that you can't know what injuries might bring, you also can't predict that QBs will get hurt or what have you. You can only go on what info is currently available to a great extent.

Of course, if you look at the NFC East, they are in last place, among all other divisions in out of conference record. The NFC East is about as bad as I can ever remember it in recent memory right now. I can see why some fans believe that we are not going anywhere in the playoffs. The thing about it thou, is that if you can get to the playoffs, anything can happen.

Lol you're right, I'm more hopeful this year than before because the division is crappy and we seem to be playing better. I'd like to see more distance between the Boys and the rest of the division so that we can have a pressureless December.

Folks who watch to much ESPN and NFLN hear a constant barrage of negativity directed at the Cowboys week after week. If that is all you hear, I guess it must be true.

Perception becomes reality to the ignorant.

At the same time, "reality" has different a meaning to different people. Too often we forget that just because someone doesn't agree with us, doesn't make them any less of a person.

Relax bud, as soon as you figure out that this board is EXACTLY like every single team based forum in the world, stuff won't bug you anymore. It's a place to vent and say dumb stuff about your team and people you don't know and will never ever meet in real life.

With the OL newbies getting better as the season progresses and the DL reclamation projects in house you just never know. If Marvin Austin pans out I'm going to be thrilled...
