Early on in his career he did. He was fantastic with T.O. According to Grantland, Romo was the best thrower in the middle of the field, 20+ yards in 2013:

I don't know why, but I seemed to laugh pretty loudly when I saw peyton's face twice. I can't explain it, but it happened.

With this offensive line and Murray running the ball, there shouldn't be a need to chuck it deep on a regular basis.

Any marginal, game managing QB would be better suited for this offense than Tony Romo currently is.

It pains me to say this but I agree. I think the O-Line and RB are top tier and the QB is living in his own 6 yr old reality where everything he did was magic.

If we lose the first three, I'd put Dustin Vaughn in the remainder of the way and see if he's got something. If he still stinks in week 17, fire Garrett. Then I'd swing a deal for Manziel or draft a QB scouts like more. It's high time the Cowboys make meaningful changes if they won't remove the Owner from the GM office.

You need a QB that can get it down the field. Sunday deep throws were pathetic.
