Joe Buck alluded to this during the game. Is it that easy to raise a 1 million plus pound video board when the season starts in 3 weeks? I'm really disappointed that more thought didn't go into the height of this gargantuan thing. Other than that, I'm really pleased with what Jerry's imagination hath wrought.

It will be raised.. Mickey said it was low because of the U2 concert in October.

As I said in another post: I think the that the punter intentionally tried to hit the TV. The TV is 90 feet above the field, so we comply with the league minimum 80 feet. During Wade's post game PC he said that with the trajectory the kick was going, it wouldn't have gone 30 yards.

I think it was just a guy trying to get his name out there or show off.

Actually they just lower the field.

lol. Either that, or Jerry has a button in his suite to raise or lower it as he sees fit.

Conspiracy theories aside, since the guy proved that it is possible to hit it, the league will probably order that it be raised.

If you looked at the punters face, he was like "Whew" when the declared it a re-do. He knew that he had a short high kick.

Everytime there was a punt, I kept thinking that the ball was going to hit it.

Doubt it on both accounts.

The ball went almost 30 yards with the hit and Buck said the next kick was high enough to hit it again but went off to the side and that kick was over 40. No tellin how far that 1st kick would have gone but guaranteed it would have been over 30.

Well... In 1976, Ray Guy hit the video screen at the Superdome during the Pro Bowl, which was positioned much higher than 90 feet over the field. Since 'much higher' is possible too, how high is high enough. The league minimum is 80 feet...they can't order it raised unless they change the rule.

I heard a rumor that before they hung the thing, they had McBriar come in and kick it as high as he could, and then based it on that trajectory. Woops. What they didn't count on was opposing punters with stronger legs.

Ahhhh..but we don't care about them....make them "worry" about hitting it and they may muff the punt....Just as long as our punters don't have that to worry about....see what I'm saying? Mind games.....

I would have brought in Buehler and had him hock loogies straight up. Anything within his range should have been considered too low.

And.... which punter would this be? McBriar has arguably the strongest leg in the entire NFL.

Both punters hit the screen in pregame warmups. So much for conspiracy theories, etc.

The Ray Guy story alone tells us that the screens were poorly planned.

I heard a portion of the game on the Titans Radio Network, and they confirmed what you heard from Mick. They said Jerry Jones plans to elevate the scoreboard even more after the concert.

They showed before the game that the punter was trying to hit it.

They showed his reaction after the punt that he was thankful it his the board.

The only reason it hit the board was because it was a craptastic punt that would have gone nowhere had the board not been there.

How much does it cost to build a stadium where people can actually punt?
Don't worry about it. Jealousy will get you nowhere.
