Hurricane felicia is headed directly for the Hawaiian Isles and should arrive sometime tomorrow. It is expected to dissipate to either tropical storm or tropical depression status by the time it reaches us, but that's just a prediction. Even then, the NWS is predicting sustained winds of 50 mph+ and gusts even higher with rainfall of about 12 inches; and even more in normally wet areas (hello Papaikou!).

I'm hoping there won't be too much damage, but I fully expect to lose my electricity and, thus, internet access for a while.

I wish the best of luck to Paniolo, Windward and all my other fellow Cowboys fans in Hawaii; as well as all other Hawaii residents.

Been awhile since I've dealt with this. We're prepared though. I will say this though. We are pretty fortunate for our islands to be where they are. A bit further south and we'd be getting nailed all the time.

Good luck to Leon it looks like the Big Island will get the brunt of the storm.

maybe Jerry should send Buehler to Hawaii so he could punch the hurricane in the face tommorrow.

Good luck Leon. I have the good luck of having a flight to Anchorage on Monday, right into the storm. Let's hope it dissapates all the way to windward and mauka showers.

So Maui may get the worst of it? Looks like the wind predictions have been lowered a little too. I surely hope so. Although, when it hits the warm water surrounding Hawaii it may increase some.

I always thought in the Pacific they were called either Cyclones or Typhoons.

Oh ya nm I forgot about Eva, that was called a Hurricane.

We are so politically correct :ralph: here in Hawaii that we call every other one a himmicane so as not to offend the female gender. :D J/K

That's what it looks like although the flood advisory is still in effect for Maui and Hawaii County, I believe.

I guess the technical term would be a tropical cyclone so in essence you'd be correct.
