Our heroes, the Dallas Cowboys, have rocketed up most NFL power charts from the bottom-or-near-bottom - to rarified air... even to include number-one-with-a-bullet in many current rankings.

Can the organization, from owner to coaching staff, keep these players grounded and focused in the face of such a rapid and intense media groundswell of adulation?

As Parcells would say, will they 'eat the cheese' only to cough it up later in the season?

I was worried about that also, but after seeing/reading some interviews I don't think they will. The players sounded as if they are very focused and are truly taking it one game at a time.

I don't see it. There's a lot of guys on this team hungry. A lot of them are seeking new deals. Rolando's looking for a contract, Carr is trying to maintain his, Dez is looking for a new one.....a lot of these guys on this team contributing are on cheap contracts.

Fortunately it's just the media taking advantage of the sensational circumstances surrounding the team. Not to mention the fan base being galvanized at a time when they were down in the dumps over low expectations for the season.

I don't see the players getting high on themselves. I see it as more of a chip on there shoulders due to the criticisms thrown at them by the media as a result of last year's failures. I think they will carry that chip throughout the season. Something about proving yourself to the doubters that gets the blood boiling.

This is the Cowboy man flying under the radar and doing well was never an option. Coach Garrett has them focused on the process on taking things day to day I think they can handle it. Today in his press conference he talked about handling success like you handle adversity, just moving on from it quickly and getting back to work,

Sunday will be a great indication of how we handle it. After the win we can all stop worrying. We are for real.

I think that's Garret's strength. Although hopefully the recent bleeding will stop
I.e, free injury, shop lifting, Ro leaving, Tyron's foot etc..

There is no more surprise.
No sneaking up on teams.

We are in expectations mode.
We expect to win, the media is expecting us to win.

The BOys are back... How far back we don't know yet... But this is different.
In recent years they were back in a way but they were finesse with little attitude.

Now they are rough and tough and have attitude and grit.

I'm not concerned with this team getting complacent. We have some pretty strong leaders on the field that will keep their team mates in check.

In the beginning of the Seattle game, we came out looking like a team who THOUGHT they were good, and was a bit nervous. By the end of the game, they KNEW they were good.

I don't think they're going to allow themselves to be complacent at all. Between the attitude of the OLine, defensive leaders, and JG, I don't expect that to happen at all.

... and a lot of them heard all the crap that was talked about them during trainining camp and the beginning of the year and haven't forgotten it.
Some don't want the spotlight (RoMc).
Some have been there done that (Romo/Witt/Garrett).
Some were written off by other teams and want to prove their worth.
Some are coming off injuries and are chomping at the bit to prove they still have it.
Some don't know their A from a hole in the ground.

We may be safe ;)

Watching Cowboys Insider, Mickey Spags. Made a good point in saying Dallas is still making enough mistakes for the coaches to be able to get out there and grind on the players to get these mistakes cleaned up. Coaches will go through the film and show the good and try to build off that but they will also show the negatives and they will get on the players for that. He also points out that this is a young team who has not won anything yet. It is not like coming off a season where you made it to the NFC Championship or a SB this team has not won anything

The team knew about this for weeks.

Everybody brings their A game against Dallas every week. When we were 1-15, teams delighted in playing their best because it was the Cowboys. When we were Super Bowl champs, teams delighted in playing their best because it was the Cowboys. There is no such thing as the Dallas Cowboys sneaking up on people. The change that needed to take place is in the Cowboys themselves, not in the opposition.

Offensive leaders like Romo and Witten should be well aware of how quick it can all fall apart, they'll keep the offense grounded. The D knows they're one bad game away from having all they have accomlished up to now written off as a fluke. I can't see this team getting to high on them selves like teams in the past
