I mean he only played with:
Terrell Owens
Jason Witten
Terry Glenn
Miles Austin
Marty B
Dez Bryant
D. Murray

Yeah. I don't think offensive skill players was a big issue. Not sure I'd ever put Marty B or Smiles on a list like that, but I won't argue it.
You could trot out jags (Robinson, Crayton) and they'd still have numbers with him at QB...and they did at times. But they had talent too. Certainly TO, Witten, and Dez....Murray for a year or two as well .

But they don't play defense or offensive line.

I think 2016, 2014, and 2007 were probably the best overall teams. Not great, but if everything fell into place, at least possible.

Romo's O-Line wasn't always terrible. Colombo and Flozell were solid, we had issues with the guards, but I really think our bigger issue was Gurode at center. Once we got a real center in Frederick, the guards were Leary (a rookie UDFA with questionable knees) and Bernardeau. And those guys started to get into a flow and become a pretty good tandem.

I think Romo was hamstrung by coaching that didn't play to his strengths and hide his weaknesses. Too much audibling which gets the offense out of rhythm, causes for missed assignments and makes procedure penalties happen too often, too much throwing of the ball in a scheme that isn't suited for short throws and a QB that doesn't throw the underneath stuff well while being excellent on play action. Then they tried to get Romo to emulate more of Brady's style of passing when Brady is much taller and has an overhand throwing style. Romo should have followed more of Brees' style of passing, using his feet and climbing up the pocket where Romo was deadly.

Meanwhile we threw way too often and not only does that not play to Romo's strengths, but it burned out our defense.

I think Garrett and Wilson have learned from these mistakes, but it cost us Romo's career in the process.

Gurode was awful. A dumb player.

After this SB I think that that everyone knows about Brady. Romo was the Houdini of QBs because his OL sucked. He was a great QB on a lousy Offense and his Defense was not all that helpful. Dak points to Heaven because he knows that he landed in the very best place for him to succeed. Grading wise I have them:

A. Brady A+
B. Romo A
C. Dak B

I would not disagree but I would say Dak is a B who has a great chance to be an A QB and comes at cheaper price that helps free up money so that Dallas is able to address other areas of the team. Much like seattle was able to stock up on players when they had Wilson playing at a much cheaper price.

So the entire team sucked except Romo. That's a new one.

The only real joke here is people that say Dak is a better qb than Romo is now. He might become one, but it's hysterical that people say he already is.

Romo is better getting hurt during games. Only thing we know. Of course Romo's experience makes him the better qb, but the other things, depends what you want in a qb for this Cowboys team. Chemistry, leadership, accuracy, arm strength. Those thihgs right now I'd take Dak over Romo.

The blind faith in Romo staying healthy 16 games + playoffs is what's stupid. If you wish away Romo's age and durability issues then sure, he's better than Dak. But you can't do that.
