These minor injuries might be a good thing

Tnew being out gives him rest and keeps him away from bumps and bruises and should have him fresher for the last part of the season. Not to mention all the time it gives the younger CBs to show what they can do.

Spencer - pretty much a wash as long as Ellis is healthy. And also he will be fresher at the end of the season due to the rest now. We will also get to see more of Walden and others and find out more about them.

Burnett: Carpenter will get a full shot as well as anyone else who can tackle. For a relatively small guy like Burnett more time away from thumps and bruises has got to be a good thing for December and January.

Austin: this may be more of a downer since he really was JUST starting to really perform. It might take a couple of games to get him back to where he was. BUT once again it allows us to look harder at the other young WRs.

And overall- with players returning to starting roles and significant playing time 2-3 games into the season, it will prevent complacency and keep things interesting longer into the season.

C'mon. I like optimism, but...

Having players getting their knee scoped in training camp isn't a good thing. We can never know if these guys will have complications from the minor surgery. Plus they miss time on the field practicing to make themselves better players, forget about what their fill-ins may be doing.

As for Newman. No, he needs practice just everyone else needs practice and he missed most of training camp. We don't know if he will be a bit rusty when he gets back out there and then there is always the possibility that he has this nagging groin injury all season.

So far NONE of these have shown to have any complications. So that worry is out. With as long as the season is now, I frankly think some time off at the beginning is a good thing.

None have show any complications, lol.

Burnett's isn't even two weeks old, lol.

Austin's isn't a week and Spencer had his today bro, lol.

I am not being a *******, and I hope all are back before schedule, but I can't see trying to make 'lemonade' out of injuries.

I think you are worrying way too much about the ops.

THIS IS NOT CLEVELAND!!!!

(and after the first couple of problems why ANYONE had an operation in cleveland is beyond me!)

Austin isn't too big a deal, and Burnett I think we can miss for a game.

But Spencer is going to hurt. No doubt.

No question about it.

This means Ellis is out there far more than we wanted him to be. I hope he is up to the challenge.

We have no outside LB depth. So when he needs a breather, I have no idea what we will do.

Oh yeah, that's right. Cleveland had all those staph infections right, lol.

I guess it's just seeing that Peyton Manning is still hobbling around after 5 weeks has me a little nervous.

No one has mentioned special teams.

Austin, Burnett, and Spencer are all players the team is counting on to improve the special teams play.

This was a phase that Dallas needed to improve on from last year. The team got off to a slow start in SD, but got better last week.

IMO these injuries will delay the improvement of these units.

I am sure you will feel differently after ellis loses steam at the end of the 3rd quarter .this is huge especially considering the 1st game where we face the "best" O-line in the nfl.
