shouldn't they cap the players also? Ticket prices are becoming insane. Hopefully businesses won't buy as much which will drive the prices down and if there are more and more empty seats around the NFL they will have to lower prices.

The end of the free market is well underway

McLovin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Free market has been on life support for a while now...

Every person who enjoys talking about what other people should or should not make needs to remember, that once you give the government power to control what someone makes, you give them control over what YOU make.

There is almost always someone somewhere making less than you... if you are unwilling to give them the difference, don't be willing to ask someone else to.

A lot of CEOs of the wall street banks should be in jail. They were told no bonuses, but they gave them out anyhow under different names. Then they are going to collect TONS of tax payer money to payoff their debt from their greedy *** choices. So, basically a huge part of your tax dollars did nothing but pay bonuses to people who were so skilled they lost billions.

I think if they rode the subway with me, I would push them onto the tracks! :laugh2: (I'M KIDDING!) ...maybe! ;)

oh good god - NO!

if you can't afford it, don't buy it. if they price themselves out of the market, it's their own fault.

Going back to school might help you. What I said has nothing to do with politics. It was current events.

Yeah, go back to school and study economics 101 and study history of what happened yourself. If you want to debate about whole bailout, I certainly can. There is a reason they have political zone. This is not current events zone either, just to clue you.

Look are you an Eagle poster or what.

Only a dooffus or Eagle poster would say that.

The Corportate Executives authorize the buying of the tickets for corporate use - their own. Part of the I like me best syndrome in all high level companies.

Little guy be dammed. Budget problems - ax the workers....
Lay off a useless exec. NEVER!!!!!!!!

The players are effectively, if somewhat loosely, capped. Rookie salaries are fixed within a certain range and the salary cap means that there is a limit that any one player can receive.

So posters who agree with the system as is are agreeing to capping salaries by definition. And the fact that the gov't allows the NFL to do what it wants means that this is, in some sense of it, gov't sponsored wage fixing.

So all you libertarians should just make the switch to being European soccer fans where, ironically enough, sports are conducted almost entirely by free market principles.
