I think Larry English is one possibility and the only other one might be Adam Carriker if he checks out physically.
I still think the best option for now is to put Crawford at LDE and move Selvey over to compete with Mincey.

Carriker isn't going to offer much at RDE in this scheme though.

I think they stay with who is on the roster. He will miss 3 maybe 4 games. I think they have enough to look at for now, to see. They didn't panic when Lee went out, and we got McClain a bit later. I give them a few pre season games at least for them to decide.

I certainly hope they don't sign English. I don't think the guy is very good. If he hadn't been a first round pick, I don't think anyone at all would be mentioning him.

IMO, we have plenty of guys already on the roster to absorb this 8-10 week injury. Mincey, Selvie, Crawford, Bass, Wilson, Rayford, Gardner, and possibly Wilber.

Now, there is a lot more SDE candidates there than WDE, but I think many of them could play either spot. Selvie plays better at the WDE position I think, and him and Mincey can make it until Lawrence gets back. Wilson is the wild card. He could be really good at getting after the QB if things click for him.

It's more likely that Crawford would stay at LDE with Selvie moving to RDE than vise versa, IMO.

If they sign someone, I doubt it will be anything more than a camp body. If Lawrence was out for the year, then maybe they look for a replacement, but as it is with what they have on the roster currently, their going to have some tough decisions following the final preseason game.

I don't think we do yet. It was a little different when we lost Lee and took a chance on McClain because we were absolutely counting on Lee to make an impact. With Lawrence, we have no clue how much of an impact to expect, so we didn't necessarily lose anything compared with the guys we have.

If Spencer's return gets off track, though, and no one proves to be a viable speed rusher, I think Dallas will begin to dig for help.

I think more in terms of not moving Crawford to a position that he hasn't been practicing. Selvie has played RDE in the NFL before.

Crawford is bigger stronger faster than Demarcus Lawrence too. It's not just about measurements, what you do best on the field is the ultimate determination. Crawford is a plus athlete at strong side DE or as a 3 tech DT. He does not have the burst or the bend to be a wide 9.
