I nominate the Ravens/Lions game for this all-time award. Anybody watching this game?

The totals so far: 16 penalties against the Ravens; 2 on the Lions.

Two starting defensive players ejected on the Ravens.

Five defensive holding calls against Baltimore in the first half alone.

A completely ridiculous pass by Harrington that was called a fumble by the crew. Not even the Lions treated it as a fumble.

Unreal. Sure, the Ravens committed several unsportsmanlike penalties in this second half, but no doubt out of frustration at Mike Carey's crew for the nitpicking calls. I've never seen anything like it.

Totally agree. They called TWO holding penalties on Raven defensive linemen in the same series. One is rare enough, but two?? Ravens are getting screwed big time.

That's odd... Mike Carey usually has a pretty tight crew of officials. Then again it's been a bad year for quite a few officials...

The Harrington fumble was terrible, and probably the start of everything, but the Ravens are doing a lot of this to themselves. Suggs deserved to get bounced. Reed should have, but the refs ejected the wrong player.

The Ravens are bad on offense as expected, but the defense is no longer great and that's where they're getting frustrated. Most of the penalties have been on the defense and they were only down by 4 at the half. They can't blame this on the refs. They're about to set the all-time NFL record for penalties by a single team

Ravens may set the record for fines in a single week too.

the Ravens are probably the biggest disapointment this year. They are getting screwed today by the refs, but they stink anyway- even their D is lacking. And Lewis looks totally ordinary. Orton I think is for real- and T Jones is having a great season so far. Benson cannot get in the game, and frankly looks worse then Lewis does when he gets in. Harrington still sucks- no change there.
K Jones is not looking all that good- he is getting the tough yards- but nothing else. A Bryant has 4 catches for 22 yds at this point. heh heh.
NO is smelling up the place- the Pack still has some life in it. the Pats look good but nothing more- the Falcons without Vick are basically a hot rod without the engine. Their D is good, though.
Worried today- No Dat. That couldbe a BIG problem.

True, the Ravens lost composure. But it's tough to hold it together when the refs are seemingly nailing you for every single infraction, while ignoring the other side.

BTW, it's now 21 penalites on Baltimore and still 2 on the Lions.

Let's face it, you could call a penalty onm every single play. To see a disparity like this raises red flags. The league will stand behind Carey of course, but I bet he doesn't get assigned to anymore Ravens' games.

Of course as soon as I said that about AB, he gets 2 TD passes. So that his hot game for the first part of the season.

That call in the Falcons game I just saw was pretty damn bad. The official who made the call should be fired tomorrow. If you can't make a simple call like that, right in front of you, then you have no business being paid to be an official. Wasn't even close, it was horrible. Schaub's foot was still on the hash, Isn't there like a foot between the hash and the sideline? it was really bad.

well c'mon....they have one guy who is their star who was an accessory to murder, who aided and abetted known felons, their other star is a convicted drug dealer/user...they're thuggish. Why didn't they jump up and draft Sean Taylor, he would've been a perfict fit.

ha, nonetheless...probably the most ridiculous thing in the nfl is when they halt play for half an hour to review a play and the booth clearly misses the call too. If the Harrington "fumble" was a fumble, how did it have so much forward velocity on it...that's ridiculous.

Really... How the hell did the ball go 12 yards in the air if he didn't throw it?
