This denver game has a feel from 2009

I know this isn't remotely the same team but hear me out, its oddly similar.
In 2009 we came off a big loss to the chargers, pretty much cementing our non likelihood of making the playoffs. Nobody had us winning the saints game. We were just suppose to lay down and the let the saints steam roll us. But they didn't, and handed the saints there first loss of the season.

Now this week we came off a disappointing loss to the chargers, and were now facing an undefeated Super bowl favorite team. There's no way we should win this game every one is proclaiming, the team should just sit the starters and treat it as a bye week.

How ever, I have an odd feeling about this game. I think history is about to repeat itself. Im saying 35-31 cowboys.

However, would not be surprised if it was a flat out blow out by Denver, and jj fires Garrett

I am so tired of hearing people use the Saints game from 4 years ago as some kind of reason as to why the Cowboys will beat Denver. If the Cowboys do win this game, which I seriously doubt, it won't have a thing to do with what happened 4 years ago in New Orleans. These are two different teams in two very different situations.

The key to this game will be keeping Peyton off the field. If we can play smart football offensively, win TOP and force a couple turnovers on D-- we may surprise some people. Ironically-- I like our chances of beating Denver coming off a painful L-- than our chances if we were coming off a W.

I fully expect the effort and energy to be there for Dallas on Sunday-- and I imagine they'll be playing angry football and want to come out and make a statement. Plus-- Dallas is playing like a different team so far at home as opposed to on the road. All the intangibles are with the Cowboys-- but on paper-- this game goes to Manning easily.

That said-- they don't play the games on paper.

That Saints team in 2009 is no where as deep as this Broncos team is in 2013.

The scary part about the Broncos is that they will eventually get Von Miller and Champ Bailey back. Their defense should get better as a result.

what's the line on this game?

I think it's one very good team against one trying to find an identity. The Broncos should win easily. But that's why they play the games. And we do have that secret sauce. Even Peyton doesn't have that.

Dallas playing at home has kept the line under 7 for now.
I would saying taking the over (55) is safe though.

That's interesting. If I were to compare it, I would say it gives me an eerie reminder of the 2011 Cowboys heading into New England off of that Detroit meltdown (we lost by the way, I like your ending better).

Den -7

That line will go to Den -10 because casual fans who drool over Peyton will drive it up. By first glance, most everyone sees that line and says "that is too easy, lets bet on Denver". There is something fishy about that opening line which gives me hope for a win :)

Currently the line is any where from 8.5 to 7 for Denver.

Of course, they will vary from book to book. That -8.5 is an aberration, most are 7 to 7.5 ATM. I expect that O/U to potentially hit 60 by weeks end.

I would tend to agree, currently the O/U is 55 but of course it will change somewhat over the course of the week depending on how much action this game draws

I could be wrong here but I got a feeling should Dallas take Denver down that some how the fact that Denver has only played the Raven, Giants, Raiders and Eagles will somehow be brought up by those predicting the Cowboys have no chance in this game. lol

I already said in another thread that Denver hasn't been tested yet. They have had three home games and the toughest opponent was a weak Balt team(at home). Of course, I could still say that after Sunday if we lose badly. Their schedule looks like a cakewalk with maybe three tougher games left....at KC, Hou and NE. I just wonder what AFC can beat them in Denver to keep them from reaching the big game.

I agree. I think Denver is a very good team. Listening to some you would think they were the greatest team ever. Yet they have played a combined schedule of teams who combine for a 3-12 record and as you point out 3 at Mile High.
I take nothing away from Denver offensively that have been on fire but excuse me if I'm not shaking in my boots about Denver coming to Dallas but I do get the feeling if Dallas wins we will hear a lot more about how Denver had not played anyone so a win by Dallas will all of a sudden become meaningless for our house critics

It reminds me of the Pats in 2007 when it was matchup of two 5-0 teams... Difference being the Cowboys aren't as good going into this contest.

I will say this, if the Cowboys are to amount to anything positive this season, they'll have a chance to win this game on Sunday. I'm not sure if they will be prepared to take advantage of the opportunity.

If Dallas wins I expect more excuses of why Denver did not play well from some Cowboy fans more so than Denver fans. lol
