Its not often we get a draft that is so deep like this class.

Almost every NFL team has improved their roster because of this draft class.

It wasn't a very good draft class at the top but the middle of this draft class is really strong.

There is so much talent on the board. What a horrible year to not have a 5th rd pick.

SS in the 4th

Desmond King, Eddie Jackson, Xavier Woods

True...it stings badly not to have a 5th. Would dearly LOVE to move OScan for a 5th. Seems like a contender might ponder that. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

Back to reality: we WILL get a starter today IMHO. A 4th rounder, a 6th and TWO 7th rounders in this very deep pool of talent. We got Dak last year in the 4th (like winning the lottery frankly) and Brown in the 6th. So I'm looking forward to today. I've got my son's first Little League game but will tape the draft and hope we can hit on a SS, OLB and/or Tight End.

I hope everyone is prepared for normal day three stuff. The big board becomes crap around now. Guys we think should of been drafted in the second or third keep sliding into the 5th and beyond.

I suspected Desmond King was going to slide some but to be had in the bottom of the 4th is just not realistic - but what I am most hoping to see happen - only to see us also pass again

I maybe drinking the Kool Aid but we got 4 more picks today and us having possibly 10 picks in next years draft away from something special fellas.

I think we will have 11 picks next year. We should get 4 comp picks. We lost 11 FA's, signed 4. And most as far as I know, the contracts were enough to qualify for this.
Unless some of them get released or injured and released.

Your best bet on getting a 5th for Scandrick Is to throw next years 4th or 5th with him.

TQFS I was thinking the same thing is their a OLB that may be a steal still in this draft?
Not necessarily a steal but I've been saying I'd start looking at Blair Brown from Ohio in the 4th round. RamziD already mentioned him above.

Super instinctive. He's just a natural LB. He sees things like a LB should and he takes no false steps getting to the play.

He's short though (moreso than small) but I love the player.

Kinda reminds me of a better version of 2013. This class was decent at the top but very deep. 2013 was bad ( turns out historically bad) at the top but very deep

I love the draft as well but...

I feel like the Cowboy's best drafts recently seem to be the drafts that the pundits/fans hate. Last season, many pundits were puzzled by the Zeke/Jaylon and failing to get a QB or defensive help. I remember everyone trolling us for the Frederick pick as well.

It's kind of like the theory in the stock market where if the public is all buying into something, sometimes it's best to go opposite...same goes with sports gambling. I am the most optimistic fan there is but a draft that looks so amazing according to mass media draft boards, it is not always a good draft. Jaguars knocked it out of the park last season according to the media with nothing to show for it...Rams knocked it out of the park for years with nothing to show for it as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited that we seem to be filling our holes with quality young players but I just want to see them play soon. Pass rushers and cornerbacks are a couple of the hardest positions to play in the NFL level.

Remember last season was supposed to be pretty weak? We turned that into one of the best in franchise history.
