As I think ahead to the game this weekend I am trying to convince myself that we are rolling, Giants are falling..etc, etc..and that we have nothing to worry about it.

Just as I pick up the Kool aid I am bothered by the dreadful happenings at Fedex field a few weeks ago...We dropped that game to an outmatched Skins team WITHOUT there two best offensive players Portis and Moss.

On paper heading in to the game we should have won the game pretty handily. Just goes to show that road games in your division are very dangerous games, especially in December.

So I feel the Cowboys will win bit I am struck by the uneasiness or "gut feeling" I have coming on about this game.

i think Portis scored a touchdown on us that game...

i think what would be worse is looking back during the offseason and realizing we were 2-4 (assuming we win vs. PHI) in our division...

Portis was in that game. Don't worry, I believe the Boy's will win the division.
Awfully kind of you sir, if you could please give back that gift from last month we'd be much obliged.

that game still hurts pretty badly. Sitting at 8-3 makes it a LOT more feasible to catch a team that's 9-2 for playoff homefield advantage.
Plus it was such a crappy foreskin team that beat us
AND Tony Romo played a nearly flawless game
AND TO dropped a game winning TD
AND the ending was one of the most bizarre in NFL history
AND the game was sprinkled with crummy calls
AND Roy gets a PI call that changes the game
It was out and out embarrassing in every way imagineable, and then it goes on to hurt us come playoff time. Ouch.
I hope Snyder sells the foreskins to someone who moves them to Japan and changes their logo and copyrights it so it can never be mentioned again.

I can see that.

Road games are tough. Road games against divisional rivals are even tougher.

Most Skins fans I've talked to acknowledge the Cowboys outplayed the Skins and Dallas should've won the game. So Dallas outplaying NYG isn't out of the realm of possibility and if so, Dallas is likely to win.

I also think the defense has changed quite a bit since the Skins game.

After that game it appears the Cowboys cut down on their blitzing. The disguise of the blitz has gotten better. It's nothing great, but *better*.

Also, I'm not positive if the loss of Ellis was totally bad or not. While it did hurt us with QB pressure, they are now moving Ware around so he can't be taken out of the play. I'm not sure if that's due to necessity or them feeling more comfortable with moving Singleton around instead of Ellis. My guess is it's a little bit of both. And so far, Singleton has been better against the run and in coverage than Ellis.

I think the key would to get off to a semi-decent start. I'm not saying that you have to be up by 7 points, just move the ball a bit and stop their offense early on. For some reason ever since the Eagles game we've gotten off to slow starts.

Rest assured. We will win on Sunday. We do have lots to worry about and you take solace in the fact that all 53 of the starters on our beloved Cowboys have lots to worry about as well. They know where they are and most of them haven't been to this point yet in their NFL careers. They're hungry and a little fired up after Shockey provided that wonderful bulletin board material. Some of our player might get arrested Sunday after we commit what will amount to a heinous crime in gnats staduim with no remorse whatsoever.

I was at the Skins game, and so I never watched it on TV.

I had it TIVOed, though, but never watched it because it was too painful. Well, finally, I'm watching it tonight. And it kills me how much we should have won that game!

First, JJ made it out of the endzone on that early safety. If Parcells would have challenged it, we would have won it easily. That call totally changed the tone of the game. We had stuffed them six straight times from inside the 5 yard line, and momentum was on our side.

Then we mindlessly went for the two-point conversion, and lost another point there.

At the end of the half, we wasted an opportunity to score a TD and went "safe" for the field goal.

And, of course, the famous drop by TO. If he catches that ball and we score there, I think the rout is on.

It should never have come down to that blocked field goal. We should have won by three points at least given the botched safety call and the missed two point conversion that would have been unnecessary if that safety isn't called. And at best, we should have won the game going away.

I guess my point here is not to re-hash this game, but to say that we lost due to a fluke (and I'm not talking about the block). It would take another fluke to lose this week, I believe.

But hey, I guess flukes happen.

DW, needs glasses.
Or less alcohol.

Watch it a few more times and tell me what you see. There is a lot more to it than just Cowboys missed opportunities.
