Remaining game rates most important to least important--and assuming it's not sewn up by the last week.

1st tier (NFC East games, in any order, I don't care)
1--at New York
2--Washington
3--at Philly

2nd tier (NFC team not in division)
4--Minnesota
5--Detroit
6--Tampa Bay

3rd tier (AFC teams)
7--Baltimore

in other words...this game carries the LEAST value of any of the remaining games for a division title or NFC p[layoff spot.
If you had to take a loss--and we all agree we want no losses--you'd rather lose to Baltimore than any of the NFC teams and especially any of the NFC East teams.

As long as our div rivals are winning we must win if we want to ride into the East Championship. We also must win to keep the pressure on for the number 1 seed which I think is more important now that the playoffs look like a done deal.

Its not a must win game, but I see where op is coming from. Out of all the rest of the games left on our schedule, this game is the 2nd easiest (TB is the easiest). You dont want to drop this game and go in to a stretch of games where you play:

Deadskins
@Vikings
@Midgets

Those are 3 tough games. Win the easier game and get to 9-1. That way, even if we finish at .500 we finish at 12-4 and most likely get a BYE.

it sucks that we are having a great season that we still have a chance from not winning the division. seems like every year we have to worry about the giants. I hate the giants I cannot wait until eli manning quits.

Crazy to think while sitting at 8-1.

But the Giants have the Bears this week followed by the Browns. Safe to say they'll be 8-3 in two weeks.

With them currently owning a head to head, Dallas needs every win to keep the lead.

You must have a bundle invested in Vegas to be that concerned with what is a Home Game.

Eli is presently, the very oldest quarterback in the NFC East?

This week is the one game left to give, it's the only AFC game left on the schedule

There are no games we want to lose, but "must win" means "back against the wall" as in you're out of the playoffs if you don't win. This game's not that.

There are still seven games to play (at least), and the Cowboys will have to continue to perform well if they are to take things deep into the playoffs this season, but the numbers and accomplishments so far, particularly for the two stud rookies, are simply incredible. So take a moment to enjoy where the team is, and how different things are this year after the misery of 2015. It has been a fantastic ride so far, and hopefully, it is far from over.

As to Cowboy matchups, this could be a factor as well:

The Cowboys will have an edge in terms of matchups as Ravens top cornerback Jimmy Smith is likely to miss this matchup. That would force the Ravens to bring in some safety help against Dez Bryant and could give Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott some solid running lanes. Elvis Dumervil will probably miss this game as well which will affect the Ravens pass rush.

It's weird, but the Giants are the only NFC East team not make it to the playoffs at least once in the last 4 years.

We can lose 1 game and still be guaranteed, yes guaranteed #1 seed in the NFC. So until we lose one game nothing is a must win. Of course it's better to keep winning but not a must win.

Let's put it this way. If we look back on the season and we ended up 14-2, it doesn't matter which game we lost.
If we look back on the season and we ended up 13-3, the only loss that could possibly matter would be one to the Giants. (HFA won't likely go to tiebreakers, because of the Seahawks tie.) That's a must-win, if we get to that point and this is still a scenario.
If we look back on the season and we ended up 12-4, then it gets complicated, but the absolute "best" loss for us to have on that list would be this game.

The order of the Giants games doesn't matter. Yeah, the Bears and Browns are gimme games, but they have a much tougher schedule after that. Only the end of season record matters.

We have one game we can throw away this season, and this is the best one for that to be. That makes it the exact opposite of a must-win.

...Dez has been the leading receiver in 3 of the 6 games he played in, but C. Beasley continues to lead the Cowboys in receptions (48) and yards (532) and TD’s (4). Jason Witten is 2nd in all receiving categories (44 catches, 483 yards, 2 TD’s)

The Cowboys had a season-high three “3-and-out” series on offense (including the 3rd down fumble).

Dallas punted the ball just 3 times against the Steelers.

Big Ben was an eye-popping 37 of 46 (over 80% completion) for 408 yards, 3 TD’s, no INT’s, and the Steelers still lost. If there is anything positive from a defensive standpoint, it was holding L. Bell to 57 yards on 17 carries (just 3.2 yards a carry) and preventing him from breaking off any runs longer than 16 yards...

I'm not hyping this game. I'm hyping the Giants. They have a great defense, a super bowl winning qb, and a very favorable schedule. They'll almost certainly be 8-3 after their next 2 games.

So let's say Dallas drops this game to move to 8-2. Follow that up with the always tricky division game further complicated by a short week Thanksgiving voodoo.

This game could be very imprtant to keep an effective lead.

But maybe you guys are right. After all, it's not like the Giants could EVER get hot at the end of the year and ride a strong defense into the playoffs.
So Dallas can't overlook opponents but the Giants are so good they can do it? Ok
