The Colt's GM comes right out and admits the huge contract given to Andrew Luck is the reason the defense is sub par.

Throughout my years of following the NFL since 1979, I've seen plenty of examples of guys who sign big contracts, but then take restructures/pay cuts voluntarily to give money back to the team to sign other players.
Romo has, if I remember right, restructured his contract 4 times already to do this. I recall Florio at PFT actually expressing DISAPPOINTMENT Romo didn't try to break Jerry's bank and shop himself on the free agent market to get far more money.
There are teams out there that literally have no $$$ to sign any players because some star player & his agent forced the team to a outrageous contract. I know a lot of sports sites like to cover Luck's regression & struggles as if he's some kind of passive victim of a bad front office.
But as this story shows, he and his agent played a role in creating this situation.
