Felix Jones is alot better than Julius Jones

Jenkins is lightyears better than Nate Jones or Jacque Reeves...and so is pacman

and the TE they say is better than Fasano...so we are better off.....fasano works better in Parcells offense...while this guy will workout better in ours...he will be in the flank sometimes...not just at TE...he can block also...and he can sky...could be a good pickup...and with 13 probowlers and as good of a team as we have the only thing you need to do is to fit the pieces in that you are missing...

We were missing a nickel and dime corner...we got both of them...big move..

We were missing a linebacker that could cover as well as tackle...inside that is...we seem to have gotten it...

We were missing a runningback that had explosion along with a kickreturner....miles was ok i will give him that but jones can take it the distance....we also didnt have that 3rd down back that could catch balls out of the backfield and put fear into the other team that he would take it the distance...now we have all of that in felix jones...no the guy is not a 30 carry a game RB but we dont need that...thats what you guys have to understand...there may have been better players on the board when we drafted but we got what we needed...and this new TE

well they say he is better than Fasano...he can jump...we havent had that like we need it in the past down by the goalline from the TE position...now we have that....

so out of all of our needs we have met like 80% of them...now all we need is a receiver and some backups that can play Special teams and we are in business....but remember...all of our receivers will be better next year too but if it were me I would trade up to get a receiver right off the bat at the beginning of the 3rd round...but still you have to keep your 4th round pick...someone will fall there that has some good talent...as happens every year....

J Jones was pretty good as a rookie.

Any No.1/No.2 CB drafted today could be better than J Reeves. It is like saying Felix will be bette than T-Ham.

Bennett?? I am sure these were nice things said about Fasano before 2006 draft as well.

Bingo. the idea that our team is so good that all we need are back-ups is crazy. your 1,s should be used on players who can be starters one day. none of these guys has any chance of starting. this draft was stupid.ALL BACKUPS.

if we move henry to safety, hamlin to SS...and bench roy with all the corners we have we will be in business now...i want to do this...tired of the liabilities out there...roy is damaged goods...might as well put him on the special teams, short yardage and lb on the nickel package...then cut him after the year or trade him for a draft pick...its going to be pretty hard to win with him starting and now we have the players to make the move...someone on espn or the nfl channell said we are going to start henry at FS now anyway...

jenkins will be a starter one day...jones...the jury is out...but we dont need him to be....barber is our guy.....i do have to admit i wanted mendenhall but i am getting used to the pick now with all the other stuff jones can do that mendenhall cant...and just remember these are holes that we needed filled...3rd down passcatching threat out of the backfield...kick returner...things like that...

I don't know about Bennett, Fasano was used as a blocker and H-Back, and Bennett is not an H-Back type TE. He is more of an inline blocker. Taking him here to replace Fasano tells me the team will be looking for another FB on Sunday.

I can undertsand taking Bennett, this team doesn't have many holes, but maybe we should have taken some insurance in case Zack can't stay healthy for the entire year, or a young reciever in case TO twists an ankle.

well theyre idiots, bc our current FS just made the Pro Bowl. you think were just gonna move him over after a career year?

I don't know about them being career backups, I think Felix will be used alot as a KR and RB next year. Jenkins will need this year to acclimate himself for next year when he will be expected to take over for the departed Newman. Bennett will also see alot of action, taking the snaps that Fasano played last year. But if that's the case, why trade Fasano?

Just a reminder, but there's still 5 rounds to go in this draft. We'll draft a receiver (hopefully Keenan Burton) and some other players. We did well today. Anyone that doesn't see this is simply clueless and nothing I or anyone else types here will make any difference. They simply don't know this team very well is all I can say. I'll say it again as I have in many other threads, we weren't going to draft ANY players in this draft that were going to start this coming season. We don't have any openings for any starters at this point. You know, 13-3 and 13 Pro Bowlers and all. Here's a little secret. WE'VE GOT A DAMN GOOD TEAM, AND WE'RE DRAFTING FOR DEPTH AND FUTURE STARTERS. GOT IT?

Stopped right here because there are a number of backs that would have been better than Julius. Any back taken today would have been better then Julius so justifying the pick by saying that Felix is better then Julius is weak.

Im not going to get pumped up about a player because hes better then a guy who couldn't cut it, especially when there was a better player available.

One question for all you Einsteins. If we had drafted Mendanhall, would we have benched Barber and inserted Mendenhall as the starter this fall? Just a simple answer please. Never mind, we all know the answer to that. However, we can use Barber and Jones together. As others have stated, Jones is a very good receiver out of the backfield, he could spreadout wide, he's a GREAT kick returner, and a very good change of pace back. I'll use some of your stupid logic here. Why would be draft Mendenhall when he would be sitting the bench behind Barber?

That is your opinion. Maybe the Cowboys thought Felix was the better back, more of a home run hitter, which MBIII is not.

you guys arent seeing the dimensions that these players will be used in that we currently didnt have...felix is going to be in the slot at times...he will be in there on 3rd down as a weapon we didnt have...running back kicks...Bennett will be used in the same way in the slot and moved around. He has great hands and can sky as I said...these are dimensions we didnt have...it opens up our offense even more...you guys need to quit looking at who you think is better and look at what we didnt have that we now do...also bennett can crush de's and lb's...so everytime he is in the game teams wont automatically assume we are passing...in order to get us over the hump we didnt need what some would call the BPA we needed players that could open up more dimensions on the field...you know the TO effect...remember that? it wasnt just what he was doing it's what he did for crayton, barber and witten....now felix jones and bennett will do some more of that...great teams dont always have the best players they have the best players for their system that open up more dimensions on the field than anyone else...

Reminds me of times when we drafted guys like Sherman Williams strictly to be backups.

STSINAZ,

I'm in total agreement with you. I think the team was trying to acquire players that can provide new types of pressure on a defense, if they perform as advertised.

They now have a back with some wiggle and speed that is a threat on the edges, as well as the added ability break kick returns.

The tight end's height and jumping ability now provides them another threat, especially in the red zone. If this guy can go up and catch fades/lobs at 6'6", how many teams will be able to cover a guy this big and athletic while accounting for Barber, Witten and TO?

all speculation dude, we've never seen them play at a pro level.

Exactly. But for all those out there who say they can't play, the same statement applies.
