Sounds crazy - but in our division 4-4 is the end. We NEED to win - no woulda -coulda's - no "well the defense was great even though we lost" That's not acceptable or good enough.
Dallas is a team many many people were high on -plenty have us at 10-6 - right now that's in real jeopardy.

But 5-3 after 8 is nice - real nice considering we only won 6 last season. And 5-3 gives us a good chance to go 5-3 in the second half and get that 10 spot.

Eyes on tomorrow - Seattle is in the past , what's done is done.

Yes what is done is done!

But every game the rest of the way is a playoff game for every team in the NFC East!

They are all huge the rest of the way! :starspin

I hope you don't get bashed for your post because I think it is a good post. The gut reaction will obviously be negative toward your post because we are playing the Cardinals.

We shouldn't have any trouble with the Cardinals but a team like Arizona can upset you if you aren't patient with them and take them for granted. They are obvioulsy going to focus on their vertical passing game and will likely get lucky and make a few big plays with Boldin and Fitzgerald. With receivers like that, they are bound to make some big plays; that's just part of playing Arizona. However, if we don't allow those plays to get us down and can remain focused, the Cardinals are likely to turn the ball over as well. We just need to be able to capitalize on their turnovers.

can i please change my prediction to 11-5?

i did not figure in the piss poor play calling when making my bold statement.

however, the reason i made such a bold prediction is because our defense has ALWAYS kept us in games. getting bledsoe and henry and ware just really got me going.

we will still win the nfc east and one prediction i've made all year is going to happen.............the eagles will not go to the playoffs.

Ya I think u are dead on with ur post.....Our schedule isnt easy at all and we have to take every win we can get.....The only thing that I hate about our schedule is that even though we are 2-1 in our devision so far, all the games we played were at home and the rest are on the road...U guys know that the Eagles are gonna come out hungry on monday night and there fans are gonna be behind them 100%..I think that game will tell us alot about our season...If we can go 2-1 again in our devision I love our chances, if we go 1-2 than I dont know....It is soo hard to call the Defence out or the Oline or call Parcells to conservative becuase we do not know what is goin on when the coaches are in there office coming up with the game plan or what is goning on while the game is being played....From the minimual that I can se though, I think that we have an excellent team and can win every game we play. I think that we need to win this game by like 10 or 13 poinst just so the players can get the feelin of winnin one before the game is acually over, we need another game like the one Vs. the Eagles or maybe 2 in a row r 2 out of 3 just so our players know can get the feeling of winnin like that...

I agree for the most part except labeling it a playoff game. Az is in no way, shape, or form close to a playoff team. I'd say its a must win, though. This is the last 'easy' (theoretically) game on the schedule.

After the bye:

10 at Philadelphia
11 Detroit
12 Denver
13 at NY Giants
14 Kansas City
15 at Washington
16 at Carolina
17 St. Louis

STL is the only team with a losing record. Detroit is the only .500 team. The other teams have 2 losses or less and better records than the Cowboys. Dallas is 2-2 against teams that currently have winning records.

If/when Dallas wins this week, they have to win 3/4 at home and 2/4 on the road to be in very good position to get into the playoffs at 10-6.

it really is a must win and there isnt much excuse for a loss...if we're a good team we should handle the Cards with ease

if they lose this game I will be totally convinced that Parcells is not the answer as a HC here...I'm sure that wont be popular, but these are the kinds of games that we are supposed to win...

It's hardly a playoff game unless you think a team that could go 12-4 could somehow be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs in week 8.

I understand what you are saying, but don't go judging the Cowboys' second half prospects by their first half results. At the same point in the season, this 2005 team is only 1 game worse than the 2003 team that made the playoffs as a wildcard. I think everyone remembers how poorly that 2003 team played in the second half of that season. Looking at the schedule, I strongly suspect this team is going to rip off four straight wins to end the season. @Washington is the only game that I'm not comfortable with.

Quite frankly, Dallas could probably lose three or four more games and make the playoffs. But I don't think they'll lose more than a couple more.

10-6 probably gets them in, but 9-7 probably aint getting them in as a wildcard this yr

No other team in the division has even played each other yet. Only Dallas has played each team in the division. 2-1 aint bad.

I agree and I would be happy with a 2-1 record in the 2nd go round in the division.

Ya but that is 2-1 at home..The rest of the divisional games are on the road with the Eagles and Giants wanting revenge

Wanting revenge and getting revenge is 2 different things. Football field is still 120 yards in length be it in Dallas or on the road in NY or Philly. Personally I think this team is not bothered by road games

No matter what kind of team you are and how you are built, you are allways gonna prefer Home..Even the Stealers would prefer home even though there record on the road is better..Thats why we play for home feild advantage in the playoffs...The fans are gonna give the Boys hell on Monday night....Im not saying that they are gonna lose the games but it will be alot tougher with the fans involved...

I didn't say they would not rather be a home I think every team likes home games over the road games. As for fans they only play a part if the home team is winning, I can think of many games at Texas Stadium where I would not consider that an advantage as the players are getting booed.
