Before the early afternoon football games were to start, I went on to the ESPN website to look for a fantasy kicker as a precaution to Vinateiri not being able to play today (due to an existing injury that's kept him out of several games already). There were very few good ones that were still available and only one that I had any knowledge about - Matt Bryant. Anyway, here's what ESPN had said about him before his game against the Eagles:
Outlook: Bryant has mastered the shank and should not be on anybody's list of potential starters. Bryant has made only two of five field-goal attempts and coach Jon Gruden has lost almost all confidence in him. The Bucs are not generating a slew of scoring chances anyhow and are reluctant to use Bryant if they do not have to. Do not play him.
How's that for insightful?
