Jason Garrett has been the head coach in Dallas for 3 full seasons now, and for the Cowboys not being able to finish games in December was "all part of the process" and learning how to win in the 4th quarter. Well time is up and the process has run its course. The time is now.

They said Tom Landry "couldn't win the big one" then Americas Team happened.

We have enough talent to win 6 games in a row?

Why? Because you're a fan?
The next 3 games against the Bears, Packers and Commanders are all as flawed as the Cowboys. Maybe more so. So people predicting victories over these teams isn't really a stretch.

All 3 of those teams have terrible defenses. Washington is now a disaster. Assuming Rodgers plays, he will likely be a bit rusty and their defense still stinks.

That doesn't mean the Cowboys a good. Just less bad than the other guys. So seeing results in December starting tonight is not unreasonable, IMO.

What good will that do us in January when a team like SF or Carolina is on the schedule?
I think very few people expect the Cowboys to go far in these playoffs. At best they may win a home game. That's it.

I think the #5 and #6 seeds will beat the #3 and #4 seeds in the Wild Card games, no matter who they are.

anyone comparing the eras is quite unintelligent

This is harsh but true.

It's doesn't take the stars perfectly aligning to win in the NFL.

With Romo as our QB we should have had way more success. Garrett just hasn't got the job done.

To this point I agree but I don't think things have to stay that way. While others refuse to acknowledge any good out of Jason myself I think there is and I hope he can get this team over the hump and people can get off this crap for a change. I don't want to continue playing fricken musical HC just because fans get their panties in a bunch.

The only thing Jason does well is he is good at keeping these guys focused.

As far as anything else goes he gives us no advantages as a coach. He's a bottom of the barrel Head Coach and should be someones QB coach somewhere.

If we lose the division two times in a row after having control of our own destiny, if the HC ain't fired the next day, Jerry Jones needs to be punched in the stomach...

The problem with that is they lack talent. This is the kind of thing you say when all the pieces are in place.

Take a real honest look at the defensive roster. The time is when?

As Jimmy Johnson said yesterday, Detroit might have most talent in entire league. That doesn't always translate. It really comes down to your field leaders and can they rally everyone. Its what makes, Brady, Brees, both Mannings, Ray Lewis special.

The eagles don't really scare me because I don't think Foles is that guy or anyone else on defense. Washington might have that guy in RG3. Giants have certainly shown they have that guy in Manning. This is when Romo or someone on that defense...maybe Lee really step forward and captivate the spirit of that locker room and lead the team.

Eli Manning has never shown that with a supporting cast like Romo's. None of those guys have.

Sorry, I just don't subscribe to the whole....I'm a Cowboys fan, so make chicken salad out of chicken bleep and win it all, Romo. Be perfect or get lost, choke artist.

You need a team around you. He doesn't have that. He's basically being asked to carry the entire load every week. You can talk about leaders all you want. You need talent to lead. The Cowboys lack talent.

It is this type of post that usually sends me into writing a book length reply.

Suffice to say this.

Landry took an expansion franchise of crap players from other teams, weeded out the less talented and assembled a team that could win.

Opie had a pretty gifted team handed to him regardless of the results of the last year Wade was here. He has followed that with a scintillating record as a head coach of two 8-8 seasons.

Landry built it, Opie inherited it. The difference is night and day.

Quoting this, just because its a rare point I can get completely behind. We're losing games to better teams when it matters because we have a talent deficiency. Either because of injury or weak day-one starters in important positions. Mostly on defense right now.

Oh i'll change my views if he actually ever produced. I don't need another year of mediocrity to know our coach isn't very good.

Ultimately the coach is responsible for the team winning or losing you can't fire 53 but you can fire one. Garrett does know this game a lot more than some couch sitting coach, fans love to talk about play calling anytime a team loses the fans holler play calling be it Dallas fans or any other team. If Dallas fails then yes it falls to Garrett he is the HC but in terms of much of what you go on and on about much of that is players execution when they blow simple plays things that are there for the taking and fail to do so that is on them Coach can't play the damn game for them, they have to go out and do the job.

Im sure Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary know a lot about football too but guess what? They couldn't produce. Bring in Jim Harbaugh and he turns a struggling franchise around.

I'm not denying that Jason Garrett doesn't know football. He just can't get results and this game is all about winning and losing. Not sounding smart.

It is this kind of reply that makes me wonder about the intelligence of the Cowboys fanbase. Maybe I can help you with a little history lesson. 1960 Tom Landry took over as head coach for the Dallas Cowboys and the team made up of castoffs from the other franchises went 0-11 with 1 tie landing them in 7th place. It took this team a total of six seasons to reach .500 in 1965.
1966 10-3-1 lost conference championship
1967 9-5 lost conference championship
1968 12-2 lost division playoff game
1969 11-2 lost division playoff game
1970 10-4 lost super bowl
1971 11-3 and the fanbase (probably your father or grandfather) felt that Landry could not get his team to win the big games.

well, things changed.
