I know I've never heard that, actually the opposite. Irvin has said in the past that Stanback is the one wr that has asked him for help.

Have we decided yet who we're going to turn on if both Stanback and Procter don't make the final cut?

I'm thinking Marion Barber or Kyle Kosier on offense and either Jenkins or Ken Hamlin on defense, but it'd be great if somebody could PM me with whatever the group decides so I'm not late to the picnic.

Jenkins is already waist-deep in hate. Where you been?

Wait. We hate Jenkins more than Stanback or Procter? Or less? I've been confused about the order ever since we stopped hating Patrick Crayton so much and since we decided that Tony Romo really *had* changed this offseason.

Olgetree is way better than Amendola... I never saw the hype regarding Danny boy unlike a lot of people on this board.

Olgetree is also taller, faster, and a better route runner than Amendola ......... but the biggest difference is that Tree's gonna make the team.

I think the coaches should play Stanback from start to finish Friday.

Austin needs some playing time, but we really don't need to see Crayton.

Give Austin a quarter, and use Stanback and Ogletree as the primary receivers for most of the game.

I agree with most of what Broadus had to say.

Barbie isn't the answer inside, and I'm not sold on him at nickel linebacker.

I think Westbrook will eat him alive.

I was one of the people that likened Ogletree to Amendola because it was the "flavor of the month" guy. The draft was over for like 48 hours before everyone started showing man-love for a guy that wasn't drafted.

Needless to say, he's proved me wrong, although I'm not so certain my haterade was directed properly. He's worlds better than Amendola ever was.

Stanback never really wanted to be a WR. He would rather be a quarterback, and we've all seen rumblings that he doesn't put the necessary time, work, and dedication to the position.

I think I remember reading that Isaiah Stanback thought he could be an NFL quarterback, but that he would try to play wide receiver if that's where a team wanted him back before he was drafted.

As for not putting in the necessary time, work and dedication, we are talking about a player who did not go on injured reserve two years in a row.

Stanback could've taken the Jacob Rogers road and elected to have immediate surgery on his shoulder each of the past two seasons.

But he didn't.

Snake Eyes practiced and even played in games with a shoulder that popped in and out even while wearing a brace before getting surgery following each season.

That is dedication.

Stanback is on the outside looking in right now, IMO, though I can understand why the team might try to find a way to keep him on the roster.

He's finally healthy, but showing up in practice is not the same as pre-season games.

Step up or step off.

I believe Stanback went on injured reserve around November last year. They signed Rodney Hannah up from the practice squad to take his roster spot.

And I remember an article concerning his lack of dedication to receiver and his unwillingness to really learn the true nuances of the position. He believes he should be a quarterback, and the article stated he's just biding his time in Dallas until he gets a shot as a QB somewhere else. I'm pretty sure it was a Washington (state) based article from around his university, and not a Dallas based one. I can't seem to find it though.

His last active game was week 14 at Pittsburgh.

He practiced every week until then with a shoulder that needed surgery again.

That shows me something about the player.

Is his heart really in being a wideout? No idea.

Does he care if the Cowboys release him? I don't know.

I can see why the staff might want to keep Izzy around and why cutting to 53 might include him.

Whatever they feel is best for the team.

He'll likely be gone, I agree with that part of the OP's topic, but it's not going to have anything to do with his stock answer that is quoted here.

I think Jerry should just quit with trying to look like the "Diamond in the rough" genius who does something different praying it works so he can look like a genius.

I guess when you're that rich, the only thing that turns you on is if people bow down to your greatness. How about just drafting what you need instead of drafting something you don't need, and forcing it to be what you need.

The Stanback draft should've never taken place, eat your crow Jerry and let's move on.

Stanback was an Ireland pick.

Jerry has final say, but if you go back thru the archives, you'll see Stanback was very much an Ireland guy.

I'm not convinced his shoulder is 100%. One good hit and it could pop out again. It's probably going to be like that the rest of his life.
