Since we won our last Super Bowl twenty three years ago, 12 different NFL teams have won the last 23 SBs, 10 of the 16 NFC teams have won the last 23 NFC championships, and 13 of the 16 NFC teams have won at least divisional playoff games. None of them is named Dallas.

Only the skins and the lions join us in not playing in an NFC championship game since then.

That kind of playoff drought in this era of NFL parity is not bad luck. It’s not the NFL “cheating us”. It’s just bad football management, a bad culture, and maybe even some bad karma. That’s what this pig headed owner has done to this once great franchise. Anyone else remember when we were what the patriots are now?

It’s not bad luck that has tarnished the star. It’s bad leadership at the top.

Jerry would rather be comfortable than competitive. Two super bowl-winning coaches decided dealing with Jerry just wasn't worth it. People just don't leave jobs that they love and have success at. Bill turned a 5-11team around and got them to the playoffs, Jimmy won back-to-back Super Bowls, yet they both walked out on Jerry. That tells you all you need to know.

NFL refs are garbage but you can't always lean on them, especially when your team is as mistake prone as Dallas.

Refs didn't punch that ball out of Demarco Murray's hands or allow Aaron Rodgers to convert on 3rd and 20...

I used to think like you, but I have seen the light. Remember the Green Bay catch/non-catch. That was a travesty.

Man I would enjoy this board so much more if there wasn’t a weekly ref excuse despite refs being bad league wide. Can we have a ref whiner forum so this is a football one?

yup

I grew up during the Landry years, lived a 1/4 mile from the practice facility, went to school with the players kids, watched practices on egg crates looking over the fence, dumpster dived for jerseys, pads and other nonsense, hung out with the players in the parking lot after practices and enjoyed 20 winning seasons

and it spoiled me rotten

making it brutal to endure Jeri's horrific ways for the last 25 years which kill any hope of more super bowl wins

It totally was.

But my point is if you don't let Julius Peppers strip Murray of a sure TD and you allow a hobbled Rodgers burn you with a rookie WR, you don't have to worry about Dez high pointing a long 4th down throw.

They did allow a catch to not be a catch, but then later a catch. They did call too absolute BS tripping penalties that stopped drives, and never happened. How often is tripping called? Much less twice in one game, and BOTH entirely bogus.

I'm not always on board for crying about penalties. In fact, I typically complain about whiners with it. Even with the ones in this game, I felt we lost by poor coaching 100%.

However, we would have possibly won that game despite crap coaching, if not for crap, questionable officiating.

Those are great players. They do great things. They would make those plays against any team. That doesn't mean their opponent deserves to lose the game.

Refs took away a great play from our greats. How is that fair? How has the win come exclusively from what Green Bay did? Play on the field should decide who wins the game, not play plus refs.

We played GB competitively, and GB played us competitively. Only one of us had the refs on their side, however. It tipped the scales.

Almost all, if not all, of those 13 teams that have been to an NFCCG have now gone to at least 2 since then.

Although I agree "almost" fully with everything you said here Bob, I feel our own division rival Giants are in contrast to what your post says and will always be an extremely hard 2 trophies that they won in 07 & 11 to come to terms with for me.
Those 2 trophies epitomize the Jones philosophy of balls bouncing the right way, lots of luck and lastly the foundational Jones motto..."Hope."

I still need therapy to deal with those 2 (9-7 &10-6) Giants teams that won it all.
The 9-7
Giants team beat one of the best teams of all time in my opinion. I've never come to terms with it. Lol.

PappyDogs and Risens animosity towards Dak is not even in the zip code of my distaste towards the younger Manning.

The Mara's suck as owners too, Jerry "Reach" was a garbage GM and was fired, they've been thru 2 more coaches since firing Old Man Coughlin and as of right now they have won 10 games in 3 years. Other than the anomaly that was their 2016 playoff one and done, they have been a laughing stock since 2012. Their "supposed" first ballot HOF QB has a career .500 won/loss record who led the league in picks 3 times. And yet not one, but 2 Lombardi's since 2007. And now they suck so bad it ain't funny.

With all that being said is where my law of averages/why not us/Jones Family Hope mantra still lives on as my last dying need of any possible championship gets more and more unlikely with the passage of time. I mean if they could do it twice, can't we manage just one year to luck our way into one?

Being cheated and being unprepared are not mutually exclusive. We don't just get bad calls, we get weird calls.

Ya know what? Lots on here complain about the "Refs." Rightfully so. I know, I used to be one. But instead of screaming about the Refs, direct your anger where it belongs. The Refs are simply doing what they're told to do. Games are being manipulated.

If you can't see that you are blind - if you won't see that , you're a fool.
