This Loss was more on the offense then the defense

This was a loss from the coaching on down. We already know that we have the worst defense in the NFL, so there's no surprise there.

The offense has carried this team all year, but thats not a sustainable formula because the offense isn't always going to have good games every week, and we witnessed that last night.

There must be balance or we're definitely not making the playoffs. As a matter of fact I don't want to see THIS Dallas Cowboys team anywhere near the playoffs because there isn't an offense on any team in the NFL that could carry this defense through post season play.

Every draft pick this offseason should be used SOLELY on defensive players.

It seems our playmakers just can't do it when it matters most.

The opening drive for example. Some great plays...and then when you GOT to punch it in...you fall on your face.

I mentioned it in another thread. Racked up some stats...for zero points. Crazy.
very suspect playcalling

Giving up the field goal on the opening drive, two crucial fumbles, and 4th down failures cost the game.

The defense was bad again, but for the first time in a long time, it was not horrific. I have to agree the offense probably shoulders the blame for last night since Dallas should have scored at least 31 points.

For this defense to keep the opponent under 30 is fantastic. So yes the offense looked pathetic. It's so strange this offense under multiple OC/HC's can look so powerful at times or look just pitiful at other times.

Guyton - Smith - Beebe - Tyler - Steele

The Oline is "healthy" and these are the starters. The OLine has been terrible all season.

Dak has been carrying the offense and bailing out the OLine all season.

Last night should have been a 40pt night... easy.

The problems go way beyond the defense.

Teams are getting a lot more film on Schotty's offense and learning how to slow it.

Now it's time for him to earn his stripes as a coach and counter it with adjustments.

one is top 5 the other is bottom 2, you're not gonna win when the top 5 unit has a bad game.

Both sides of the ball were bad last night, though the defense was still worse. The problem is, the defense is always bad. No team in the NFL has an offense firing on all cylinders every single game. However, most decent teams have a defense that can step up and complement the offense. Not in Dallas. If the offense has a slow start, makes mistakes, or is just average overall, there’s no defense to bail them out.

I was watching the game last night, and compared it to last week's game, it seems like the league has figured out our offence. It's one thing for Denver and it's D to figure us out, but it's an entirely other thing for Zona to on our home court

It's simple plays that doom this team week in and week out. Yes, the defense is horrible - but they've had a ton of stops that end up turning a stalled drive into points or a hold to 3, that turns into 7.

Defense stops them twice on 3rd down - penalties extend the drive and lead to scores.
Offense gets a first down and holding penalty negates it and stalls out drive.
The Williams fumble - if Hurts forward progress was stopped, his sure as heck was

It just seems to be the case over and over, every week.

Is it the coaching....I doubt it, because it's been a problem for years
Is it the players....maybe, but some go on to other teams and don't have the same issues
Is it ref bias....maybe sometimes, but every team probably argues the same. However, I doubt Arizona plays mostly penalty free football most weeks.

I'd love to take a deeper dive into the actual point differences based on the calls and when they happen. Maybe playing mistake free football is the difference in good teams vs bad teams....but I doubt it. Since the Bengals, Jets, Browns, Raiders, Falcons and Panthers are all in the bottom 12 in penalties called against them this season. I really think it's when the calls are made that make the difference.

Makes sense to me...offense is where all the money and draft picks have gone. Year 9 for Dak...too soon to evaluate him. Need at least another decade to REALLY see....

The Cardinals had 2 drives over 70 yards in the first half, the only 2 of their season, scored on 3 plays to start the 2nd half and converted their first 8 times on third down.

The offense was not good at all, but the defense is a disaster.

The OLine has been terrible all season.
That's simply not true. Williams is having a really good year. Dak has looked good and produced at a high level most of the year. All that has to happen behind a good line.

The Cardinals were in his face all night long....no QB thrives under that much pressure. He doesn't get a pass, but the reality is the offensive line blew. Guyton and Steele just whiff on about every other pass play.
Thats always what i read when he shows what he really is.

The pressure applied by the Cards was nothing special. They werent in his face all night long.
In fact he had way more time to throw than against the other teams he played in 2025.

Against the Cardinals he had 2.9 secs to throw on average. Against other teams in 2025 this time is way under 2.7 secs.

And no, some QBs - those that are considered good ones - are able to deliver. Even when under pressure.

That Guyton and Steele are bad players is nothing new also. And has nothing to do with Dak being a bad player.
They didnt play bad only against the Cards. They are bad in every game.
