This offensive line is sorely missing Bill Callahan

The run blocking just isn't the same through two games. I see people calling for Michael to be activated. For what? He's not going to do anything with these non-existent running lanes.

Randle actually did GREAT today considering the blocking he got. There were more than a few runs where he turned what should have been a loss into a small gain.

Meanwhile, rookie Matt Jones goes off today for the Commanders, coached by Callahan.

I'm not saying Callahan was the sole reason for success last year, but I am saying that we don't seem to be getting the most out of our talent up front thus far.

I highly doubt we changed the running plays, or the way they are being blocked. Philly has a good front seven, we did not run all that much until late, and Joe Randle is an average back.

Leary being out hurt the most this week. It doesn't help that they have to bend over on the line until the ball is snapped between 0 and 1 seconds on the clock. That is too much time for one of the five not to make a penalty of some sort.

It is coaching, just not sure which coach(s) are at fault. Everything on the line seems to be the same, just bone-headed mistakes with no rhythm to get into the running game.

I think we'd look a bit better, but there are also other factors to consider. Murray was unreal last year. Two, Dez Bryant spaces things out, which helps out the run game. Since other teams aren't really worried about us launching it down the field with Dez out, they can focus on stopping the run. Philly also has a very talented defensive line.

Our offensive line really struggled last year against Philly. Their front 7 is just really, really good. I don't think their performance today (other than the penalties) was any worse than we saw in either matchup last year.

Why are we missing Callahan? Is it just because WAS looked good today? Or is there something specific we were doing under him we're not doing now?

Nothing that actively correlates to winning games in this league, I'm fairly certain.

I mean it's hard to run with constant false starts and holding penalties...

We set a franchise record with 14 penalties.

All the "experts " here will say no of course not, and mock u. This line is lacking what last years was, especially in explosiveness. But, it's still a young season with injuries...I think we miss the excellent continuity of the coaching staff last year without him but things will probably solidify. Callahan is an excellent line coach and the skins are showing the benefits of having him on staff... Prolly the only good coaching move they've made In 20 years...

We didn't do that well last year versus the Eagles, regarding the offensive line. Their front seven causes our o line fits

The offense is missing Dez. He was available then not available throughout game 1 and obviously wasn't there yesterday.

To all those saying the offense wouldn't miss a beat.... I hope they enjoyed watching 8 defenders in the box over and over again.

They're missing Ronald Leary. Bernadeau is trash and Collins not ready.

Yeah Murray didn't break 100 yards against the Eagles last year in either game.

I wondered how long it would take for the "we miss Bill C" thread to appear. Too soon to say the OL has slipped. When the same 5 guys start for more than two or three games, we should see improvement.

Also need Martin to get better.

I assume the kind of stinger he had in training camp eventually dissipates?

There's numerous teams in the pros and college that aren't missing Callahan.....his last stop, the Jets couldn't wait to get rid of him when his contract was up
