This offensive line is sorely missing Bill Callahan

Coach can make a huge difference on how players perform on game day. We may have the same scheme as last year but how the players are prepared and how they practices during the week can make a big difference in how they perform on Sundays.

Callahan is known for attention to details. All these penalties by the OLine may be due to the fact they are not as prepared during the week as they were last year.

It's too early to say one way or the other but our OLine is off and not run blocking as well as last year. I don't see the big gaping holes I'm used to seeing from them.

Yes EaGirls have good run defense but they didn't play as well as last year against the Gints pathetic defense either. And that was with both Dez and Leary playing in the game.

I hate to break it to you, but Washington actually has a pretty good offensive line too. Callahan is a tremendous coach and you're always going to miss a guys like that. However, I think it's too soon and there are too many variable to determine that our issues blocking (in the passing and running game) are attributed to his departure.

Honestly, I am more worried that this line still has issues with blitz pick up and stunts.

The run blocking just isn't the same through two games. I see people calling for Michael to be activated. For what? He's not going to do anything with these non-existent running lanes.

Randle actually did GREAT today considering the blocking he got. There were more than a few runs where he turned what should have been a loss into a small gain.

Meanwhile, rookie Matt Jones goes off today for the Commanders, coached by Callahan.

I'm not saying Callahan was the sole reason for success last year, but I am saying that we don't seem to be getting the most out of our talent up front thus far.

I know you want to believe that but its just not the case. Randle, McFadden have not been bad. Team just dealing with assortment of injuries and lack of cohesion. If Dallas hangs in there until about thanksgiving...they will be feared team.

I CANNOT BELIEVE people are knocking Randle for "leaving meat on the bone" so to speak. He made chicken salad out of chicken crap on quite a few runs yesterday. He wasn't getting much better blocking than Murray was on the other side but he got something out of it.

You guys are so clueless it's unreal sometimes.

Predictability is the problem.

Teams are keying in on the run and it's why we are burning teams on almost every play action pass.

We should just play action every time until defenses loosen up.

Why are we missing Callahan? Is it just because WAS looked good today? Or is there something specific we were doing under him we're not doing now?

LEts also keep in mind, divisonal road game. and second game of Pollacks tenure which did fine considering what they were up against. Pretty, no, but if it was my second game, id ask for some time as well. AN unjury or two and inherited Free, I think Pollack is doing ok.

I think this line missed Leary more than Callahan yesterday, but that's just my take.

Eagles have a good defensive front line. However, I'm not sure who we count on from here until about week 10. Randle? Weeden? The OL? Don't they all need to get it together in order for us to stay relevant offensively? I think there is more to it than just the tough defense we've been facing.

And let me say, it doesn't get any easier from here. We have the Seahawks, Pats, Eagles, and hate to say it the Giants again. What team is a good indication to say that, oh we did well because their defense isn't that good. Falcons? Saints? We face all those teams before we get our qb back.
