Parcells has been around football long enough to know this guy is a waste of roster space....GET RID OF HIM ALREADY BEFORE HE REALLY HURTS US....Go get anyone....with hands...I'll even take a slower guy ...as long as he doesn't short arm the team and drop touchdowns... :banghead:

By all appearances, our fourth receiver goes by the name of Terrance Copper. With his special teams' abilities, Tom Crowder will probably be the fifth receiver. If Parcells goes with four tight ends, I doubt that he will keep six wideouts. That would mean that Morgan is the odd man out, imo.

Have patience.

If Morgan is willing to stay a year and work on catching the ball (the right way) AND play special teams then I wouldn't mind him being the #4 WR. If not, then bye bye, Morgan.

That's a lot of inexperience at wideout if true...
True, but how is Parcells going to fill the roster with experienced wideouts right now...

...IF those experienced receivers are still on other teams and may or may not be cut or waived before the season begins?

Again, there is no legitimate speed backup to Glenn this year other than Morgan.

And, with all apologies to LTN, Terry is not known for his durability.

Morgan is bigger and faster than any other WR on the roster. If Glenn goes down we still need someone to stretch the field, and the likes of Copper or Crowder simply don't compare.

Over-react all you want, but we simply need Morgan on the roster, at least for this year until we draft a bona fide speedster next offseason.

I don't like it any better than you all, but facts is facts.

Can't argue about Morgan's speed. You can't teach speed. You either have it or you don't, but a dependable receiver needs more than speed. He needs to have dependable hands.

If Parcells had the option of--

A: Stretching the field with a suspect receiver

or

B: Having a third possession wideout (besides Johnson & Crayton) to consistently move the chains

--I believe he would go with option B.

I'm hoping Dallas can nab Peerless Price if he gets released from the Falcons.

How did he drop the ball tonight, did it just bounce of his hands or did he just take his eye off of the ball looking to score. Also what kind of route was his td catch. I think we should use morgan on fades as he seems to catch well going after a jump ball. On ther other hand he seems to drop a lot of passes on crossing routes when he has to snatch the ball with his hands.

Is Price playing that badly for Atlanta? If that were to happen, it would be a good pick up for us.

As long as Glenn and Johnson are healthy, they would be (in Parcells' eyes) #1 and #2, imo. Would Price be content in being the #3 receiver?

Thats what we had after Glenn went down last season.

We lost. A lot.

MOrgan is one of those guys who can make the great catch and will drop the routine one. BUt no one has ever doubted his ability to create seperation from NFL CBs deep. And there is no one else on the roster or likely to be a late camp cut FA that has that ability.

Cutting him would be assinine.

This year, anyway.

Last year Randal Williams was the biggest and fastest WR on the team, and the only fast WR on the roster other then Glenn.

He got the boot.

Sorry, but a WR is useless if he can't catch. Like I said, if he's willing to WORK to earn his spot AND play special teams then I don't mind him sticking around. If not, good riddance.

Randall WIlliams never proved he could get open against NFL CBs.

MOrgan has a 900+ yard season to his credit.

Apples and oranges.

Well if you want to look at the flipside of that, Randal never proved that he would consistently be one to drop passes.

It's simple, if you're a WR that can't catch, you are absolutely USELESS. Especially if you don't play special teams.
