This Shemar James kid. something about him

One thing I remember about him at Florida was he was fast enough to track down running QBs including Daniels. I have no idea why he would have run a 40 north of 4.6 at the combine because you can clearly see that he plays faster than that. Again.. scouts need to put away the stopwatches and measuring tape and watch these kids play football. Especially when they are going up against future first round picks week and week out in their conference. Still it was our good fortune that he was there on day three. I think he's gonna be a goodun. Donovan EZ too!! And I can't wait to see Revel. If all the scouting reports are accurate that dude is going to be a shutdown corner in a couple of years.
He was quick to commit himself to the wrong hole and take himself out of the play against Carolina, a little better this week but a long way to go

Yes. He's got the skillset, now it's just finding out whether he has the brains/instincts.

The coach listened to Voch and started blitzing James. That move may have knocked Washington out of the playoffs.

If this is James as a rookie, just imagine how he will perform in his 2nd year where most players make their largest leap in productivity.

As far as Revels, save him for next season. What I mean is, don't expect anything this season even if he does get some snaps.

Being cleared to practice and play doesn't mean he is back to where he was before he was injured. from what I have seen, that takes at least an additional six months.

Agree, was wondering the whole time why no man to man press coverages. The Panthers converted a darn 4th and 3 or 4 and the DB was 8 yards deep.
I think the philosophy should be you tailor your scheme to the strengths of your players. If your players don't have the ability to play zone or if they don't feel comfortable doing it, then try man. Stop forcing something that doesn't work. It took until week 8, which is what I think it is.

And the gmen scored 32 on them, so based on those numbers the offense should be able to put 40 up if the show up and play four quarters.
My point on that post...and almost breaking the rules!...

IS that overshown didn't blow a lof of coverages. He barely played.

I agree here. It's an underreported fact of rehabilitation that an athlete cannot regain that which he spent his whole life developing in a few weeks. The muscles, ligaments and bones may heal but the strength, flexibility and the mental ability to rely on the damaged part without any reservations. And every person is different. Fans tend to want to paint guys with the same brush as if they're all the same.. and that's simply not the case.

Apparently, most teams didn’t think much of him due his 40 time. However, we’ve all seen it before where a guy runs a 4.3 or 4.4 but doesn’t really play “fast”. Then I’ve seen supposedly “slow” guys play super fast or super quick. Sometimes it’s an effort and instinct thing more than just pure speed.

I also wonder if he was one of those guys who didn't go to "speed school" before the combine because he already thought he was fast enough. Some fast guys just take it for granted that they're going to run their best at all times when in reality if you don't train properly you can go out there and lay an egg. It certainly cost him a lot of money but if he continues to play as well as he has he will make it up.
